Solution to both issues: no armor at all in civilian areas, and have frequent and meaningful Negotiation checks out on missions (exactly one hostage situation is all I'm saying: be creative).Fluffeh Kitteh wrote...
The helmet issue is really starting to get stale.
IMO Bioware could toggle Shep's helmet to work with the breather logic of the squadmates, appearing only in scenarios requiring the helmet. Since we can reasonably expect that he would never kiss someone or buy a drink on a disabled collector ship, etc. it would work out.
However that would also prevent further helmet customisability, eg. you can't reap the benefits of Death Mask 90% of the time because you wouldn't wear it on the Citadel or Illum, etc plus you can't wear the helmet as and when you feel like it. So if you look at the big pcture, the benefits don't outweigh the downsides.
Really it's a missed opportunity with the idea of getting the loyalty of a bunch of crazy guys that it's all done with a single quest and never something you can lose except in pre-scripted "take a side!" dialogues: these guys are highly skilled in doing things their way, why does Shepard never once have to convince them to do something on a mission? I believe there's once on Omega (so I'm told), but it's a waste that such stuff doesn't come up more often. Please take notes for ME3.

when you get upgrades for weapons (e.g) shotgun damage, does the damage upgrade apply for a downloaded weapon like the cerberus shotgun or collectors assault rifle?
Yes, the bonuses apply across the board to all applicable weapons.

As for the armor - yet another set of armor to sit on my hard drive until you give us an option for removing helmets. This makes the fourth set I don't use. Honestly, I don't understand why a toggle helmet option wasn't made available from the get go and it only really shows just how pointless armor stats are in the game when you run around in N7 armor and NEVER USE A HELMET, thus not getting those bonuses, for two entire playthroughs.

The shotgun is great. Personally prefer the N7 armour to the Cerberus (bonuses are OK, but, irrespective of the helmet question, just looks a bit too power-rangerish).
I'll definitely have to agree with you there, I tried my hardest to use the cerberus armor for most of my 2nd playthrough. However, now i'm about to fight the final mission of the game, I came to a conclusion. I look like tommy from the power rangers with some kick-ass improvements lol!

Gee, thanks for giving us a shotgun that is good for Vanguards almost a month after the fact instead of with the retail game. The existing shotguns were so underwhelming that I beat the game twice on my Vanguard using the heavy pistol with incendiary rounds. Charge in, two shots, fire DoT, dead.
Claymore is anything but useless on a Vanguard. In fact, a charge-oriented Claymore wielding vanguard is easily the most enjoyable build I've played in Mass Effect 2; even when played on insanity.

Nice to know that. Was a bit unsure if upgrades affect collector AR.

That's why Bioware mustn't release it...
The other "american's only" dlc, like m-29 incisor rifle would be great to be unlocked for all of us (European players)

I'm polish, I bought Digital Deluxe Edition and I've got M-29 Incisor without any problems.
Did I miss something?

Least there's a shotgun upgrade...
When are the adepts, engineers and sentinels (not to mention squad members with the same weapon proficiencies) gonna get ANYTHING DLC to work with that doesn't cover our faces?

New Cerberus Assault Armor and M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun DLC are NOW AVAILABLE fof free through the Cerberus network. It should be available for all fans, both on PC and Xbox 360. Check your download screens now.
Cerberus Assault Armor
Cerberus assault armor is designed for shock troops, turn the tide of battle against creatures or forces that would decimate normal soldiers.
Increases heavy weapon ammo capacity by +10%
Increases shields by +10%
Increases health by +10%
M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun
The M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun is a longer-range shotgun with armor-piercing loads. This design also violates several intergalactic weapons treaties, so the M-22a is not distributed to militaries.
You can learn more about the Cerberus Assault Armor in a Arsenal update with screenshots of the armor in action here: http://masseffect.bi.../arsenal/armor/
I have a physical CE ME2, and I have Cerberus Network running. Where do I go to download those two? Every time I click on "New Content" brings up a webpage of downloads, and neither of which appear there.

Read up, some of us cannot download an entire game, but hey the incisor is sort of useless, looking at stats the mantis does 260 damage per shot the incisor does 50 and is 3shot burst, the only way to make it usefull is to mod it... That's if you got the PC versionsacredl wrote...

For the Vanguard/Soldier/Infiltrator the headshot visor is nice not only for the damage, but because it doesn't completely obscure your face and looks pretty damn good to boot.
