Oh well. I wanted to play it with my old warden. Probably would give this a whirl, but not really too excited about it. I hope there would be more info soon.

I'll stay on the fence until it's out... if I get another ending like the last one, I am so not buying.

I doubt the new player character is Morrigan's child. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to choose your race or Origin.

I'm glad you start as a new character. New origins story and a new part of the world that you can explore through new eyes. Also no rediculous plot device that enables to charcter to start back at level 1 such as rebuilding your body. Wonder how they will do it in mass effect 3.

I hope a lot of you know that if it is indeed a sequel, it will probably have been worked on *before* origins launched. Most games do that, because the last few months before a game ships usually it's just technical working and product promotions. The story team doesn't just take a few months off, they start working on how to continue the story while it's still fresh in their heads. In a way, this is a fine time.
Also, would you honestly believe that BioWare would rush something this massive? They tread lightly, partly because they don't wish to upset their fan base, but another part because if they do, they lose a lot of cash from the series. They'll be trying their hardest.
Lastly, they're running out of DLC. Now all we can expect are these small items and chronicle events. Half the DA population still plays Origins, while the other Awakening. If they released a DLC for just one or the other, they'll be shooting themselves in the foot. So they know they either have to make DLC's that do not fit into the two games, but after the Darkspawn and Leli's song, they're running out of ideas.
So relax people, sides, complaining about it won't do anything. Remember the Left 4 Dead 2 riot of how many people fought against Valve releasing so soon? Yeah, that didn't go so well, Valve straight out ignored them and proved them wrong by showing it wasn't a bad title. Not the best, but better than the first gameplay wise, and equal storywise.
All in all, take a chill pill, people.

I know its going to happen when said but I almost can't believe how quickly we are seeing Dragon Age 2. The first game took 7 years to make and now we have an expansion (though not very good) and a few DLCs and now the next game. I thought we would see more DLCs and another expansion to come before Dragon Age 2.
I look forward to finding out more, though with Star Wars the Old Republic out at the end of March this seems an odd time to launch another massive RPG. It seems EA have so many games coming out they just pick their release dates out of a hat,

^hahahahaha not all my companions will survive!
Counting the little shadows on the main site though, there's 15-19 people?...
dear god, i hope one side is the 'enemies/dark' side, cutting your squad down to 7. 15-19 does my head in.

I had always knew that a sequel was coming, but I am definitely excited now that it's official.
I'm running out of money for video games already... Need a better job!

From reading through a few of the topics here in the DA2 forums, I see I'm not the only one who, upon reading the description of DA2 got a bit of a Fable vibe. I'll admit I wouldn't be upset if the combat went a little more Fable 1(on consoles since we can't get the same type of controls as the PC can) I just hope the game isn't released until the end of 2011 to give them lots of time to polish.

i don't know about this one, i'd be ok with starting a completely new storyline if i had a little more closure with the old one. hopefully the add ons don't stop for origins....maybe an awakening add-on having something to do with morrigan? idk
