Well, one moment, I'm sniping Bloodpack mercenaries and laughing when they light on fire and then launched into the air by one of my squadmate's biotics, and then launched away again by my Concussive Shot...

...and the next moment I'm staring out at the gray upstate New York sky, a few inches of snow, and a graveyard, realizing I have two papers due in the next two days and that I go to college in one of the most depressing places to be in the Winter.

*sigh*

I love my friends and all, but the closest I've gotten to a loyalty mission is walking my girlfriend back to her dorm room.

And let's be honest...even though walking her back does often include an interrupt hug, that's not the same as fighting sentient machines in a space station =/

OMG! thats what i'm talking about, minus the girlfriend, & i don't live in NY i live in Denmark... in a very small town with a few hundred residents + its minus degrees the last 3 weeks. when i was younger i read Harry potter, lotr artimes fowl & all that. really all it does is giving you short periods of joy in exchange for weeks of grayness.

Exactly! Wait, minus degress in celsius? It has been what I consider "warm" for the Winter here for a while lately, which is to say between 20 and 25 degree Fahrenheit (about -7 to -4 degrees celsius). In winter, this weather feels pretty damn comfortable, especially when it has been down to -10 Fahrenheit (-23 celsius)...But Denmark is probably way colder than that :D

Either way, yeah man we're totally on the same page here. The town I live in (Rochester) isn't small, but the college I go to (University of Rochester) is only about 4,000 undergraduate students, which is pretty small, so I am in effect in a pretty small community, stuck in the library staring out at the bleak days haha

I, too, read Harry Potter and Artemis Fowl, which was a definite nice reprieve from the cold winters (although I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio...which gets 60 days of sun per year. Even bleaker than Rochester haha).

...Sorry I got excited that we both live in the same situation haha I'm done delving unnecessarily deeply into my personal life

omg i just used a very long quote, but yea thats pretty funny its minus 4 celcius here at night its nown to 10 but it don't get much worse than that. if any of you guy wanto we could keep contact over twitter (p4pals) or facebook (Patrick Lundgreen -the guy with the curls) it's always nice to write to another ME player

We're almost on the same page man.

A glass of disaronno on the rocks and a bit of Chopin goes a long way towards relaxation and enjoying life, you know what I mean? Nice to look outside and just...Well I won't get emotional on forums, but you know what I mean. Those moments where you can relax and enjoy life are great, and a universe set upon by sentient machines can't hold a candle to that sort of thing, eh?

I have the same problem at the moment. I didn't want the game to end and the last mission had me in palpitations. Life on earth seems pointless now and it's years until ME3 arrives. My advice is replay the game - maybe ME1 too, buy the soundtrack(s). New DLC should hopefully be coming in a few months. As for other games try both Star Wars KOTOR titles if you haven't already as they're kind of similar in regards to structure.

I feel the same way as the OP. I'm beating the game on insanity now, but I'll be starving for more until the DLC starts to come through. ME3 can't come fast enough either. I do want them to take all the time in the world to make sure it's the best game I've ever played though :)

Learn to play an instrument and perform locally. It could become a part time job, or be just a hobby (saxaphone, go w/ the saxophone!)

Dude (OP), just time travel back and never buy this game. Then you can enjoy the ignorant bliss of your real life again. ;-)

Ok i just finished playing the game... and now my life sucks

i'm a student in Denmark, i've got freinds (didn't say a lot so dont troll me) - so basicly before this game i had a life, enjoyed it did some of my homework, played computer - random stuff

-but after i played ME2 i found out my life sucks, i'm not flying around in space with cool, hot & sweet aliens / human-girlthings with 3 fingers&amask shooting geth & mean aliens (who looks alot like the ones from alien)

sorry about the rambling but i was wondering is there any way to cure this empty feeling in my tommy? did you get the same? how did you cure it? any other amazing games out there?

There is a reason it's called Fantasy. Feelings like the one you are talking about stem from the fact that normal life isn't this grand epic adventure non-stop like the universe of ME and you really want it to be. These games are made/designed to suck you in, if they do then they have succeeded in their task.

Lots of people feel what you do. I don't consider it abnormal, it just stems from a sense of no real purpose in life in general and a sense that there could be something that much more that is unattainable. I mean what do we really accomplish in life? Job, marriage, kids, etc?

Rant/

Hell, if I had my way I would revive the Orion project that was born in the 50's and send people to Mars, put me on the first ship. But noooo, using nuclear bombs to propel giant spaceships at 10% the speed of light is dangerous. *GASP*

Mordin was right, species only evolve by pushing the limits of what is possible, and right now the Human race isn't doing s***. We have so much wasted potential it's stupid and it's all because people are afraid to take risks.
