Any real difference here?
Each has a playstyle but don't both come up with the same end result?

You get different cutscenes in a few places, and some characters react slightly differently to you. They still follow you around like puppy dogs either way.

Or play the game as you see fit. Dont just pick the renegade options, it defeats the point of a complex choice if your going to only pick one level and max it.

Basically it's been flavor for your game both for ME1 and ME2. However, some of the choices you make might have a dramatic impact on how ME3 plays out. To the point of being an entirely different experience.

That's provided they make use of that, which at this point is an unknown.

I miss being able to make paragon choices but only ever put points into Intimidate. Result was a nice guy who would be mean if pushed too far. Oh well.

Yeah, you need to be consistent in one direction if your goal is more to pass all dialog checks than to play in-character.

It seems like the overall arc of the game remains the same regardless of choices though small dialogue alterations depending on your choices. I will say that from ME1 to ME2 the renegade options seem alot less jerkface and more anti-heroic. Much more pleasant that pissing in everyones cheerios.

Renegade Shepard is a f*ck!ng **** haha. Paragon Shepard has wiser dialogue, BUT renegade shepard is funny and fun.

I enjoy paragon Shep more overall, but a couple Renegade options are very enjoyable. Shotting the fuel tank beneath the ranting Krogan, snapping the dude's neck in Miranda's mission, kicking the dude out the window, the krogan headbutt!

Overall I make Paragon choices, Paragon interrupts, and Renegade interrupts when appropriate.

I always blow up the Geth base though...

Yeah i heard that one on ME1 before. And what kind of impact does ME1 really have on ME2? Appart from one or two cutscenes or some other "model" speaking almost the same text.

I can't even get my old crew to join me. Despite being buddies with all of them (talking to them all the time and asking for their imput to be a valued member of the team). The only one who really seems to be happy to see you is Tali. Even Garrus is more concerned about sulking in a corner (even though i like how shepard and garrus pick at each other and i am glad my two favorit Characters returned as Companions this time around).

I like the Renegade option where you kill Sgt. Cathka and say "You're working too hard". That should have been a Han Solo move somehow. And that is a Renegade option that influences gameplay. If you do it, the Gunship has less health when you fight it. However, Garrus still gets blown up.

I'm pretty sure it affects your appearance too like red eyes, I'm not really sure though I played out as a paragon lol

That's how I play, mostly paragon or neutral conversations but the interupts is where I get to be "me" more than anywhere else as I would have done the same three things Mal_Luck mentioned.  Plus I let Mordin kill his former assistant.  I also shocked the blue sun sgt.

Yep it does, scars too.  Though you can use the medical ship upgrade to fix the appearance back to normal.
