Ok, so I just recently started my second game on my character that I played through ME2 with. I got him to lvl 30 on the first playthrough before importing him and everything to play on Insanity. Now, I migrated the character originally from ME1 and got the bonuses to my Paragon and Renegade scores from the first game, but my meters were completely empty when I re-imported him after beating ME2. Is this supposed to happen, or is this is a glitch?
I've read that I can get some rank in both meters by respeccing on the Normandy and fully evolving my class power again, but I'm still a little annoyed that I didn't get some sort of comparable bonus to what I had the first time through.

Use the save game editor to set your paragon/renegade stats to the original bonus value.

That's what I really do not like about NG+.

Every Paragon option was available to me in NG+ even though I started at neutral. It raises very fast.

NG+ or fresh characters ensures that your Shepard has to mostly stay to one path the entire game. ME1 imports gives you a little leeway in terms of making some paragon/renegade choices without affecting the end-game persuasion checks.

Yeah, but although I am Paragon 90% of the time, sometimes I feel Renegade option is better (from my point of view of course) and it may be greyed out. Not to mention you have to wait with one of Miranda/Jack loayalty missions until you max the Paragon bar, otherwise their conflict cannot be solved.
I am not asking for all points to carry over, but why should ME1 save game have more benefits than ME1+ME2 game?
I still enjoyed NG+ simply for the combat experience and having the best weapons from the start, but I am not gonna import these NG+ playthroughs to ME3 because of lack of Paragon/Renegade compared to regular playthrough.
