Will Awakening have mod support, or the ability for most mods to carry over (without updates from the mod makers)?

As long as the chest breaking mod carries over (not even for the chest breaking....im loving the not having to switch chars to unlock chests thing) and the respec mod im happy.

Respec mod is a must. Alistair is 10x better as a Two-Handed power house IMO.
I want my armor, weapons, and clothes to carry over as well though.

They aren't going to bother testing any unofficial mods, so don't bet on it.

I want my Grey Warden Runic Armor to carry over.

Bioware doesn't have to, since they designed the game based on modder feedback from Neverwinter Nights; one common complaint with NWN was the fact that some popular mods would break at each patch, requiring players to wait for a compatible version to be released before patching. Now, as long as the mods don't directly edit core scripts and 2da files, they should be compatible when Awakening is released.

I hope if there isn't mod support, you can edit your characters at the start of the expansion. V__V Or many of my characters will be bald!

Most of them should work. Inevitably, there will be some compatibility hiccups but I don't forsee it becoming a big problem. Those mods that break can probably be easily fixed, either by the author or someone else who doesn't want to wait for the creator to fix it. S'how these things usually go.

They've already said you'll be able to respec in Awakenings w/out an outside mod.

Mods along the lines of appearance changes should work without any problems. Unless they named some files the same or something, very unlikely.
Other mods should probably work so long as they don't rely on the main campaign to function. I figure they way they're going to deploy Awakenings is as a module just like any other mod. So if you can use the mods in a custom module, it will probably work. Can't say for sure until you try though.
