So i'm replaying a charcter in ME1 to import a different story to ME2 and I realised I did not do Geth Incursions which means I did not complete the quest to help Tali in her Pilgrimage, anyone know how i this transfers over to ME2 if at all? I would go back and do it but im on Ilos, so SOL.

Yes, it transfers.

There's an in-game reference to helping Tali if you did so. I don't know if it has any wider ramifications, though.

Afaik, it only gives you three extra (useless) lines of dialogue from her.

Yeah it is pretty stupid that Bioware doesnt give us any rewards for helping Tali with her pilgrimage gift or helping Garrus take down Dr Heart. They could have made it so that the characters start off loyal regardless of whether you decide to do their loyalty mission in ME2 or somthing small like that.

personally I'd have liked a loyalty system that had more variables than just "loyal" and "not loyal", had it been something similar to DA's then how you treated the characters in ME1 could've resulted in a slightly higher or lower loyalty with them

There are quite a few references in ME2 regarding the decisions made in ME1 (including Tali's and Garrus' side quests), but on the other hand you should consider that there might be a few people out there that haven't played ME1 or at least don't have a ME1 character to import. These people are stuck with a default Shep, whose backstory omits most references to the events in ME1.
Therefore Bioware simply couldn't make many events from ME1 more significant in ME2. That said I do think that they actually did a fine job of bringing those events up in ME2....

Actually, they COULD implement real punishments for not doing all quests, or for your choices, like the Witcher. Too many people would bit*h about it, but it would be worth it, imo.

If you have played ME1, rushed through and imported that character, sure. But someone who starts with ME2 would be shafted for no reason there. And it doesn't sound that smart designing a game only for those people that have played ME1

Actually, it would also be a good buisness move, because it would encourage people to buy ME1. And you're saying that shafting those who haven't played ME1 instead of those who have is a bad thing?

It would also lead to people who would have bought ME2 but haven't played ME1 saying screw you Bioware because they're being punished for not buying Bioware's other game. In the end they have to wonder if the sales of ME1 (and let's face it most people would buy the game second hand so Bioware gets nothing) would offset the lost sales for ME2. Since they didn't do that it's safe to assume they figured penalizing people for not buying their earlier product would in fact be a bad business move.

If you're going to make a continous story, make it continous, not segmented for the people who omg haven't played the first one. If they haven't, then they obviously don't care about the story, and therefore shouldn't be bothered by it. Also, install limit much? You can't sell ME1.

Hmmm I never completed the mission to help Tali with her pilgrimage in the first game as I didn't know where to go (wasn't reading the forums on the first run through as wanted to find stuff by myself) so what I would have liked to see is it carrying over to the beginning of ME2 but guess that wouldn't fit with the story.

Actually helping Tali's pilgrimage is a so to speak side quest for anti Geth campaign side quest because after that quest when you destroyed last Geth base she will ask you for copy of the data aquired there, and it's up to the player if he/she let Tali copy them.
In other words that quest is not Tali specyfic sidequest (like Wrex's family armor or Dr Heart hunt whit Garrus not to mention that we get him from Hacket) but can benefit her in completion of her pilgrimage.
