I prefer a 2-3 year release I want them to take all the time to make Mass Effect 3 as amazing as they can.

probably another iPhone game.... or iPad game! BW have problem delivering things on time when they announce them 1 month before release, so lets see if their long time predictions are more accurate.

Expansion, followed by ME3 in several month is the most likely version. Awakening (for Dragon Age) didn't take fourth months to develop, more like an year - Origins was finished since late spring 2009 and was delayed for console ports. It's entirely possible that two teams worked in parallel, one on the porting, the other on future content (DLC, expansion etc.). And I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the Mass Effect team also split into several groups, one to polish up ME2 before release, the other to develop DLC and finally (probably thee writers and concept artists) started work on ME3. That was in late December...
Console Ports, like PC ports, are generally issued out to other companies to do.

If I have 3 guesses, I'll pick the following:
- New platforms (iPad, PS3?)
- A bridge to ME3
- Multiplayer
Definitely not an MMO. If it were to actually happen in 2011, we would have heard about it already. Unless Shepard happens to find a portal to the Star Wars universe, that will allow you to import your ME character into SWTOR

BioWare should to take a long walk in park, breath some fresh air, and work on REAL sequel to ME1.
No more rushed out spin off.
Ugh. Mass Effect 2 was a real sequel, like it or not. Theres no going back.
Anyway, my best guess would be an expansion or big dlc.
ME2, as a game is pretty good, as a sequel is pretty forgetable
Looking forward to your space trilogy.
Oh wait, you're just running your mouth. Sorry, how could I not notice that!

Personally, I think a series on a cable network (SciFi or Starz, for example) would be fantastic.

I think even the most casual perusal of these boards will show that most think that while ME 2 was a very good game, it could certainly stand some improvements in ME 3.
