2011 is so far away it's not even worth discussing right now. Heh, heh.

I know but it gives me the impression were going to get an enormous DLC, or they are pumping out ME3 like human reaper juice

Yeah, too soon to be ME3, too far away to be just another DLC pack...sounds like it could be a major expansion.

Early 2011 is too early for ME3, but late 2011 is the perfect time for ME3.

"EA's chief operating officer John Schappert"

Awesome.

Well... when in 2011? I can very well imagine that ME3 could come middle to end of 2011.

This wasn't a BioWare announcement, this was an EA announcement.
And they said before March 31st.

True, but the first pargraph says early 2011...unless the reporter msunderstood.  I'd love to get a big expansion that bridges ME2 and 3...

go into dark space? that would make sense. 'can't think of anything else any closer. it could be other galaxies, too. that's pretty far reaching, but maybe a little too much.

This is cool, but 2011.... I am so tired of waiting. It doesn't make sense to just be a DLC, unless it's a huge one I guess...

I hope it's an expansion. I was very disappointed with the support (or rather, the lack of support) that ME1 got in the DLC department, they promised to fix it this time around.

I'm guessing it will be a "Bring Down the Sky" sized mission pack which will bridge the stories of ME2 and ME3.

I think some of the ideas and guesses presented in this thread are setting expectations waaay too high.

It figures they're giving us a new shotgun right after I finished my vanguard playthrough...

Uh, I know most people don't understand the concept of FISCAL YEARS, but Electronic Arts started it's 2010 fiscal year back in March of 2009. Their 2011 fiscal year starts this coming March. That means what the CEO is describing is coming this Spring or Summer, not in 2011 as you might expect.

So, it's definitely a big DLC like the schedule for Dragon Age.

I think the reporter understood properly.  By Winter 2011, EA meant January/February/March, as opposed to December.  That fits both with early 2011 and with winter 2011.

It's not ME3. It's a DLC like Dragon Age's Awakening. It'll probably cost around the same amount too.

And it's coming out this spring/summer, as in April/May/June, not Winter of next year. See the Fiscal year post.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *head explodes*

jk, planet scanning ain't that bad, but mix it up with some mako style sandbox play! (without the lame controls)
