The 2011 thing is probably going to me ME1 and ME2 for the PS3.

Uh, I know most people don't understand the concept of FISCAL YEARS, but Electronic Arts started it's 2010 fiscal year back in March of 2009. Their 2011 fiscal year starts this coming March. That means what the CEO is describing is coming this Spring or Summer, not in 2011 as you might expect.
So, it's definitely a big DLC like the schedule for Dragon Age.
Ohh thanks for the clarification!I never really dealt with fiscal years. Then, it will probably be a good DLC.

Well, during a fiscal call, you can also speak of december, january, winter, summer ... And they can still mean the same thing as usual.
And another clue, Dead Space 2 was first mentionned and it's announced for Q1 2011. So the Mas Effect thing should also be around that time.
And they are discussing their fourth quarter fiscal plans of 2011.

They clearly said Winter 2011, so probably late 2010.
And if it's a ME MMORPG, furniture will be defenestrated.

Okay, for those of us who DON'T play DA:O, how much of an expansion was/is this "Awakening" dealio? Because I Googled it and it is apparently another 40 bucks.
That's, like, 2/3 of the game price again...

we won't know until it comes out in March.
i have my eye on it, but 40 bucks is a lot.. that is nearly the cost of a new game.

Surely, you guys have speculated from the trailers, and what tidbits have been released?

Oh, something no one likely mentioned is that they may announce a mass effect movie. IMDB has a listing for a mass effect movie with a release year of 2012. So 1 year pre-movie wouldn't surprise me as that is about the right time to announce/release trailers for a movie. Especially to build hype for ME3.

Nope, steam store has it for pre-order for 40 bucks.

ME as a movie is... no.
The only thing you could safely do would be a prologue, maybe the First Contact War. The fact that anything in the game timeframe would have to mention makes the film impossible to make, because you would HAVE to mention Shepard's decisions/effects.
Maybe end said prequel movie with a-- never mind, you can't even do a sort of 'birth of Shepard' scene because he/she can be male or female, as well as colony-born, earthborn, or spacer... so basically, yeah, complete prequel.
