I appreciate that. Thank you.

Particularly if whatever is behind the text wheel is brightly lit/light coloured.

Though complaints may have slowed (many people aren't as stubborn as I am), it would be nice to know if any sort of progress has been made on this issue, or has it been put on the back burner. I know that Jesse Houston pledged at one time to check this deal regularly, and it would make sense that he would slow down on checking up on this thread since complaints have slowed, but an update would be nice. Especially since I will probably keep going on and on and on about this issue.
Exactly. They said they would keep us posted and, as expected, nothing moved since we stopped complaining. People have better stuff to do than keep complaining on and on for months and months on a forum... and there are already many threads, hundreds of posts where people complained for this issue. It would be nice to let us know if something is moving! The text doesn't get bigger by itself, you know.
I'm playing the game and I'm having lots of trouble, can't read the codex without getting very near the screen (with my eyes hurting after 2 minutes) so I'm missing lots of things from the world they've created. The choice wheel is another tragedy. Luckily, the Italian dub is great!
The fact is that the game is wonderful, and it's incredibly sad to see it ruined by this kind of issue. It's been months since the game came out... come on!

I'm posting just to support this. I've played and finished the game (I like ME1 much more, but this was good too) and couldn't read anything.
Hoping something will move.
PES 2010 incuded some patches in its game add-ons, via Live of course. Why can't Bioware do the same?
I know this game has a thousand bugs, I know every minute someone discovers some crazy error, but this should be fairly simple to addess.
I've lost hope, honestly, but will continue to bother everyone.
I'm fairly good at it.

You know Alan Wake? It seems it has some creepy facial animations.
Now, Remedy is PATCHING THE FACIAL ANIMATIONS with their next DLC. It's something bigger than 4MB.
"It's not alone a matter of the method how or where the facial capture
is done, it's about the run-time animation techniques available,
skeleton setup and so on."
You'll find the news here:
www.joystiq.com/2010/05/06/remedy-looking-to-improve-facial-animation-for-alan-wake-dlc/
So, Bioware, now it's done!
Just put some incredibly cheap DLC on Cerberus Network (you don't want to get paid for this, right?) and put this damn text patch in it once and for all!
We see the light at the end of the tunnel, at last!
EDIT: Wait, maybe I've misunderstood the news. I thought they'll patch the animations, but maybe they'll just improve them for their next DLCs.
I'm sorry. No light, then.

It is disheartening. I haven't picked up Awakenings yet because of my concern over support, and I don't know if I will pick up ME3 for the same reason. This whole deal has really reminded me of Origin. Remember Origin? They came out with Wing Commander and Bioforge. I really liked both games, and Bioforge really deserved a sequel, but by that time EA had acquired the company.
It makes me wonder about what happens when a studio is acquired by a larger company. What is the change that causes these frustrations, such as lack of support? Is it a change of focus? Management style? Priorities? Is it all in my head? I don't know, but what I do know, is that I won't be buying anything from EA again until I can afford a superultramegagodlikeomnigargantuanawesomehappyfunwondercoolsweetradicaltechnocyberlove television, and that probably won't be for awhile.
Whether the loss of a customer is important to EA, who can tell?

Sadly this is classic EA behavior, once a game is out the door they leave it as is for the most part and point to the EULA for why they don't have to fix anything. EA basicly ruins the name of every company it takes over, they cash in as much as possible then disassemble it keeping only what they want and toss the rest away. I doubt they'll care about losing a few customers, but I know that I won't buy another game made by them, it's not worth the hassle and they show no interest in fixing anything, only moving on to the next game to rush out ASAP. It's very depressing seeing the direction that things are heading...

Would be nice if they would ninja-patch the text by including the patch with a piece of DLC, doesn't even matter if we have to pay for it...
Hell, I would buy DLC if they included this.
I would even buy this patch on its own.
I know that sounds crazy to some, but it would be worth it to me.

No, it isn't.
I have already paid the game, thanks. They've made a mistake (a really stupid one, if I can say it) and they have to address it. What should I pay for? Look at this forum, the game is full of bugs, glitches and errors. Do I have to pay for every single patch? This damn game will cost me something 300$! And I have already finished it (and liked it less than the first one).
They have made the mistake and they have to address it. They have testers, they have QA teams, they are paid for it! It's their job!!
And they have to give it to me for free. I already gave them my money, now it's enough.

You are absolutely right, however, I just want this fixed, and at this point, I don't care what I have to do to get it fixed.

I just installed the patch. I do not know which issue with the text that Chris Priestly was referring to, but the text is STILL too tiny for my eyes with the screen size set to normal.
With the screen size setting set to widescreen, it is now bearable, though not perfect. Still, it is enough that I can read it with a lot effort, and only from a few feet from the screen.
Mind you, this patch was released yesterday, so I do not think anything needs explaining.

I tried sometimes ago swithcing to widescree mode in 360 system menù, but the text was still barely readable, plus the image aspect ratio was ruined.
It would be cool if Mass Effect would have 4:3 fullscreen support along with decent sized text...

Of course, it could be that I just haven't started the darn game in so long that I cannot tell. Maybe if I start up a new game I cold tell if the text is still bugging me as much as it was before.
However, it would help if someone at Bioware were to say exactly what text issue Chris Priestly was referring to, as there are several.
Also, I still think orange text on an orange background is just a bad idea.

I don't know if they have already answered to this question but, what exactly does this mean?
What was wrong with the text? Could this be the much awaited "text size issue" fix?
I know, I know, "download and see it for yourself!", but I can't right now and I would like to know this, since I'm very interested.
Nobody?
No it's not unfortunately. As I've said in previous posts, if anything changes on that front, I'll be the first to talk about it. This update fixes some coruption that would occur making the fonts break all together.
