That was well done. Just as good (actually better) as BioWare's!

Very good. A pity that Jennifer Hale didn't make the "Fight for the Lost" comment, but otherwise just as good as the real trailer.

Excellent work, fits well with the theme of the Bioware launch trailer while making intelligent changes where appropriate.

More Garrus would have made it even better though. :P

I agree :) Garrus is my favorite team-mate. As you saw in the trailer, other Thane, he is always there. Though he is the one I pick for the FIRE team, cause there is no one else better.

Great!

Three suggestions:

1) Better looking Femshep

2) Cut out the Joker clip - it doesn't work with the tone of the trailer.

3) When the ME2 title splash comes up at the end, it comes up a *bit* too soon. It's ahead of the peak of the music. Push it back maybe .25 or .5 seconds? Gives us more slo-mo, too :)

Aside from that, it's really great. Perhaps you could increase the volume of femshep's lines, since they're essentially whispered.

CubemonkeyNYC beat me to my critiques, though I didn't think that the female shepard was bad, something more... conventionally attractive might've been the order of the day for an attempt at replicating a trailer.

That said, creating a pretty Fshep is a bit of a pain in the rear

Very nice job! Your femshep actually looks a lot like my second femshep.

Well, I worked over the original so it is how it is at the end. I too would have pushed it out, but this was intended to replicate the original so this is what you get :)

Joker thing I tried to explain in the OP, it works for me cause there is transition. You guys are used to the old trailer where there are more scenes that go toward the "suicide" feeling. Mine is more action oriented hence the battle cry from Joker. I mean the trailer starts out by focusing on the team being the biggest and baddest out to get the collectors, so in that sense it makes sense. You have to view it with an open mind.

@ Spoiler guys.

I had some replies already to comments like these, but it would be nice if you would tell me what it is I am spoiling.

I mean showing more scenes will not spoil anything. Some who hasn't finished the game has still no idea of what is happening on screen.

I show more of the sliding scene, but the outcome is still unclear. Will Thane hold on or not?
I showed the Shepard jump, the original had a similar one. Both stopped in mid-air, so what am I spoiling?
Other things are just explosions and the like.
or maybe you are reffering to Garrus? That scene can also go two ways.

Spoilers, spoil the plot. You don't want to know what happens in the end, I DID NOT show any endings for the scenes.

I understand not wanting to give away any "trade secrets" but can you tell us a little bit about how you did this technically? For instance what programs or source material. In particular I'd love to know where you got a "clean" version of the music.

Well as far as trade secrets go, you can learn anything on youtube tutorial vids, the music can be acquired from here and there.

But, here is the process:

1. downloaded trailer and converted it to a form I could use.
2. The music I already had. Two Steps From Hell - Heart of Courage from the album Legend. In the trailer they use both the choir & instrumental version.
3. I used Fraps to record things in game.
4. I use Sony Vegas 7 for editing.

After that it's all about skill and/or talent. I say that cause I am in the talented section, but my skills do lack or rather I am not into effects so much.

For this however you only need to cut everything to right place so it looks the same, if you have everything that is. I didn't so I replaced scenes to ones I thought great.

My favorite scene in the trailer is possibly the one were the team is sliding down and then the camera moves up. Other that was in the original trailer as well is when Shepard backs in from the door with the sun shining.

Both I think have great cinematic feel.

The problem I am having now is..

should I make my own trailer using the trailers?

or

should I replay the game? :)

I want to do both to be honest :)

If you're not going for the suicide feeling, why include Shepard's lines about how they might all die?

Moreover, Joker's clip isn't really a battle cry. It's just...trash talk aimed at the collectors. It's kinda crude and clashes with the tone of the music. For example, you could sign on Xbox Live and hear someone yell the same thing.

I think you should also tone the music down when Jennifer is speaking. I can barely hear her voice.

Great trailer. It shows that BioWare is limiting themselves in not showcasing the full aspect of the game by just using a maleshepard. After all the age group the game is geared toward should be fine with a femshep as part of the marketing.

Oh and dont be ashamed to have missed the HIM that TIM uses. If you use a femshep there are a number of instances where you are still referred to as being male including the female c-sec customs officer. That officer definetly needs glasses.

Well let's look at this logically.
If you play the game you'll make yourself happy.
If you make a trailer you'll make yourself and us happy.
"The needs of the many." :D
