Maybe not that rare, but very self gratifiying, I charged a merc, and while time slowed down around me (Heavy Charge) I whipped out my shotgun and brained him with it, then time time sped up again and he flew away from me dead. A couple of seconds later, one of my bots yells 'Nice Shot!'
What are your proudest or most unexpected combat moments?

used adrenaline rush and took down enemies in slow mo with long ranged sniper headshots, such a Max Payne moment. (When you play the assassin girl protecting Max who's trapped under rubble at that construction site. God I hated that bit.)

Used reave on an unarmored Krogan that was charging me. While he was doing his little pain animation one of his Vorcha buddies shot a rocket at me and hit him instead. I had a human shield!! LOL

Unexpected: My Sentinel w/ Sniper Rifles was doing the mission to pick up Mordin on my first NG+. Zaeed and Jacob were scampering around, taking all the fire and dealing out some good damage of their own. My Shepard was up on a balcony, crouched behind some crates and dealing out death with headshots and Overload. Suddenly, I realize the Veins of Death have appeared on my screen. But no one was shooting me! I looked around, couldn't find anyone, and promptly died. As the screen panned out in the death-shot, I realized a Varren had snuck up behind my Shep and was totally wailing on her from behind. When I turned to look, I hadn't looked /down/.
Proudest: An armored Korgan was charging at my character from only about 5 ft away, so I quickly double-Warped it with my Shep's ability and Thane's and had Garrus Concussive Shot the thing. I Cryo Froze it, and was then able to beat it to death with melee hits, thereby gaining my revenge against all the Krogan who killed my Shepard with a single backhand in ME1.
Unexpected: The first time I ever got overrun by a horde of Husks, I totally wigged and completely forgot my Shepard was a Sentinel with Tech Armor. Needless to say, when the armor exploded and sent the Husks who'd been beating on me flying away to form a perfect circle of prone bodies around Shepard, it was shocking. And so, so awesome.
Also, I think my /absolute/ proudest moment in the game was the first time I managed to steal a kill from Garrus. Payback is awesome.

Going toe to toe with a krogan as a vanguard only to have Grunt come in and charge/steal my kill

Accidentally pressing the melee key while turning around only to hit a husk off the cat walk.
That was just random.

Most fun: Sneaking up behind the newly possesed drone, stunning it with a gun to the back of the head and then running for cover when the Larva fired off his rockets. Killed 4 Harbingers in a row that way. So fun. WHO FEELS IT NOW ****?

I got a little slapstick amusement out of cryo freezing those annoying YMIR mechs and practicing my mech-tipping skills..

Whacking a Blue Suns merc right next to the edge, not yet killing or toppling him, then shooting him to cause him to fall. Made me feel cool.

I would have to say that another memorable moment of mine was on my Infiltrator. During the horizon mission, the area where you have to play king of the hill, Garrus and I took cover after Miranda died. With limited ammo, Garrus and I picked down the collectors and husks one by one. I had one shot left in my pistol. Harbinger was low on health and Garrus was dead, so I used Tactical cloak and snuck from cover. I ran behind harbinger, used that one bullet and shot him in the head only to whack him with my pistol when he died. I was so relieved and felt so proud of myself after that part, only to find out that another wave was coming. Sadly enough, I died.

On Haestrom I was fighting a Destroyer with full shields. he was about a yard away from me, my tech armor was down, and both squaddies were dead. Somehow, I was able to melee his shields and health down without dying. I honestly have no idea how I killed it. By all means and reason I should have died

I was playing as a Vanguard with Miranda and Jacob on the Warlord mission at the very first point where you encounter the Blue Suns mercs, all I used was shockwave and charge, killed everyone in about 7 sec. I'll never do that again I know.

Favorite moment was on the platforms towards the end of the Collector base, where you have the pair of scions and assorted collectors. I was taking heavy fire, so I popped fortification and sent Grunt to point blank range to draw their attention. Of course, once he got up there, he just started beating the hell out of all of them and killed one of the scions with his bull rush. More fun with Grunt: using the Avalanche to freeze a whole bunch of mercs, and then letting him smash through all of them like a very angry kid in a very cold candy store.
As an adept, nothing beats improved shockwave on both the Collector ship and the Reaper. 8 or 10 abominations/husks with an explosive crate nearby = escape velocity.

I have a new proud moment! I was on the Derelict Reaper for the IFF mission and was in the last room where the mass effect core was. If you recall, you're in a tight space and the Husks can get you from every angle, thus its better to stay on the higher part of the map in the center. Well as I entered the room, the husks rushed forward and trapped my teammates, killing them.I was pushed against the door, my powers on CD and my Rifle close to reloading. I noticed an abomination in the center of them so I released the remainder of my rounds into him, causing him to explode and kill the rest of the husks. Priceless!

During my first playthrough I used the Cain twice. The first of those two times, I used it to nuke the Praetorian on the Collector ship on a whim. I really didn't expect the ensuing fireworks. Suffice to say very little remained of the Praetorian. Maybe not my proudest moment, but certainly the most unexpected.

I'm not sure Krogan would appriate that particular figure of speech.

The first time I used the Cain... I was fighting the Scion + Husks on the derelict Reaper near the temple, fired it right into the middle of them... holy crap by the time I recovered from the effect there was nothing left but ash. Having not seen much of that weapon in previews it was awesome.
The second time I used the Cain... the twin Scion + Husks later in that level... hell YA take that Scions. I hated those things my first ME2 play through, it was a good bit of revenge.

Pulled a Blood Pack Pyro straight up on Tuchanka and Mordin hit it with an incinerate in midair. It felt like the 4th of July.

My most unexpected moment was when I was in a fight and I had Jack with me. I was using my assault rifle on some Blue Suns Merc and she crossed into my stream of fire. She then told me, "That's me you ass." Never had a computer game swear at me before, and I was lucky to win that fight since I was laughing so hard.

Fought the Geth Arm Chair or whatever the hell it's called on the Tali mission. It raped my squad mates and I miracously killed it. It might not be as epic as your stories but I mean it was on Hardcore if that counts for anything

Before I took improved geth shield as a bonus I had thought that AP or warp ammo was the best damaging bonus talent for the soldier. When I combined improved geth shield (10% weapon damage) with all possible bonus weapon damage armor pieces (DLC recon hood included) and took Miranda (15% squad weapon bonus damage) + Garrus/Legion, I became an unstoppable force.
When all these things combine, there really isn't any need for tungsten armor-piercing rounds. The geth shield provides a 10% weapon damage increase which boosts you past to the level of damage that AP rounds are capable of, granted that you also level disrupter and inferno ammo all the way. The power and versatility that improved geth shield has added to the table has made it the best bonus talent to take while being a commando soldier IMO. I picked the Revenant as my bonus weapon and have succeeded at shredded through everything on insanity

Was facing two vorcha and a Krogan on insanity, near death. One vorcha was a redshirt, the other was a pyro. Unstable warp from Miranda ripped the armor off the vorcha, I hit the pyro with an Area Incinerate, he blew up, killing the other vorcha, ripping the rest of the armor off the Krogan, and Jacob snagged the Krogan with an Area Lift that Threw him straight into an exploding crate and he flew off a balcony and died. It was the most amazing luck I'd ever seen.

My most memorable moment was on the platform when boarding the Collector ship. I was playing infiltrator and until that time I had never used the tactical cloaking since I couldn't imagine what use that power had. Well, I discovered it on this mission and it changed my experience of the game. With both team mates out and no medi-gel I was in desperate need for a little break so my shield could regenerate. In desperation I turned on the cloak. Then it also struck me that I could actually use the cloaking also as an offensive weapon. I could turn invisible for a few seconds, pop out of cover and unleash fire and then duck for cover again until I could cloak myself again. It took some time, but in the end I fought the Scions and all the Harbinger threw at me practically alone!
