Consider this, how does one make a pixel-woman loved and covetted by as many people possible? Creating a sexy body is easy to start with, the appreciation of certain features is instinctively present in all of us. Then suit her up in a tight suit to display and enhance these features for maximum effect, all pretty straightforward.
Now the hard part, her face. Faces are the most important means for humans to recognize each other. Our brains automaticly define many different facial attributes. With that many variables what is attractive to one person can be a turn off for the next. The solution: don't reveal it. People will naturally assume she is pretty because they WANT her to be. The mind makes her perfect because there is a lack of conflicting data.
Now to further people's interest, give her an alien and a slightly different or semi-familiar culture. The good old mysterious stranger trick. Let her speak your tongue flawlessly but with a defining accent. She is now familiar enough to be comfortable with but different enough to spark your curiousity, very clever.
Her personality needs to be mellow, so not to offend or annoy people. Strong enough to not make her a doormat. In short, make her average, predictable even. Add a bit of innonence to her personality and make her depend on and trust the main character..
A women with a hot body, a face of your choosing, foreign but no linguistic trouble and a personality that prevents nagging; an illusion of the perfect woman?
Your experiment succeeded, you can dominate the weak by portraying an unachievable but wonderfull reality. Now it's time to kill the monster you created Bioware! Reveal her face in Mass Effect 3, let the cries of anquish and discontent fill these forums. Release the ignorant from the cruel hold of their own fantasy. A fantasy you helped create and only you can destroy!
I beg of you, return to us these forums. No more "I want Tali's babies", "Tali-romance DLC please" or "I will love Tali forever" threads. This soap HAS to end, so we can all get back to murdering synthetics in peace and quiet.

I really like Tali but I am still lost on where the sexy body comes from. She has chicken legs,3 fingers, never changes clothes, could die from a kiss, her face could look like a baboon's butt for all we know. I think she is funny and sweet though. She will always be one of my favorite team mates.
agreed, but all the people who whorship her hang on in the fact that we dont know nothing about quarians, and that shes sweet and theres more than sex etc etc, thing is in real life all of them would run like hell if she presented herself without helm looking like a squid.

Call it the Minority club, because that's exactly what you are minorities.
If you don't like the "tali love" then gtfo and good riddance.

Have to agree with Stakis here. I love Tali, but i'm annoyed by the cult.
Played the game without reading the forums once, in fear of spoilers, romanced Tali for i always found her character to be incredibly likable, but why everyone needs to be vocal about that is beyond me

Of course, the Krogan way of "ignoring" the enemy won't work here. The greatest blow to this would be revealing her face and making it very plain. I mean, even plainer than Liara in ME. Not a monster, no, that would be weak trolling. The worst blow is disappointment. If the face is very plain, after a burst of rage the excitement will die, and only a couple of diehards will remain. Yes... it's cruel.
I don't support anything like this (like her too much), but it's the logical way.

Im not sure what to do with this...
I never said I liked or disliked the fictional Mass Effect character named Tali, I only pointed out the reason for the obsessive response of her "fans".
You zealously jumping to the defense of Tali kind of proofs my point. Don't worry though I talked about this with her, and she reassured me she wouldnt be offended.

They should've revealed her face in ME2 (or any Quarian face for that matter), now it's just making people mad with curiosity, Bioware can never live up to the expectations. (Unless they build some sort of quantum supercomputer to render the perfect female face)

True, OP, that a reveal would kill it - but not just a reveal.

I wasnt refering to Tali as being physicly a monster. But to the monster that she is in people's head. The "evil obsession" if you like. They can try and make her as pretty as possible and people will still be dissapointed, you can't make a perfect face that's the entire point.

Yeah the argument "It is her personality that matters!" is a pretty weak argument meant to keep her face an unknown for the sake of their fantasy....
Which is a selfish and hypocritical argument, she's still just a character and if that BS about personality was true why do they not want to see her face?
I think Tali's body is sexy, three-fingers and chicken legs and all, but I don't obsess over her and make up stuff like that. I just want to know what a Quarian looks like and out of all of them Tali.
I also wanted the Tali romance for male Shepard because narratively, I felt it was the best one to have. A relationship that develops throughout the course of the missions. I don't see Shepard as an extension of myself, I still see Shepard as a separate character and myself as a director.

Well I do think the personality is most important that is why she is tied for my favorite team member. I do see people talking about how sexy she looks is and what not but I just do not understand the sexy part. It is like this for those that want sexy go for Miranda for those that want a the nice, sweet, funny personality go for Tali.Mikazukinoyaiba2 wrote...

I agree. It's kind of why I drop by the obsessed thread to count the pages:P I'm interested how far it will continue. To me it looks like the mods are doing the same thing. Maybe they're already taking bets if it can reach a thousand pages.Edje Edgar wrote...

Besides I think it's possible to make a face that will at least please most. They just have to stay well clear of the uncanny valley, and make it exotic but recognisable. Not t impossible when you're a pro.
