I support this. Fair is fair, after all.

Keep Garrus and Tali as cameos in ME3, bring back Liara, the Virmire survivor, and the rest of the ME2 LIs.

This way, every LI gets two "starring" episodes, and no one gets special treatment. I hope Bioware are fair minded enough to realize, that the fanservice should be spread outside the Tali cult and Garrus fandom this time. Shine the spotlight elsewhere.

Doubt it will happen since like it or not, Tali and Garrus are the 2 most popular characters in ME.Image IPB

But what about all the people that just like Garrus and Tali as squadmates, not LI's? Can't we just keep em in but retcon the LI. It's a win-win, I get to keep em as squadmates you let other people suffer even more.

I for one don't understand the fixation either. I'm 35 and could care less about her niavity. The Love Interest for ME2 seemed forced. I would rather her stay in my engine room and keep my Normandy running smoothly. Making love to her is crazy and my Shep never pursued her. Hats off to you guys that did. You may have started a side quest in ME3 where she'll die and you have to find a cure or get her back to the Flotilla cause you made love to her, got her pregnant and now she might die, gasp!

ps

i like Tali, i'm just not IN love with her.

I really like Tali a lot but I am still lost on where the sexy body comes from since she has chicken legs,3 fingers, never changes clothes, could die from a kiss, her face could look like a baboon's butt for all we know. I think she is funny and sweet though. She will always be one of my favorite team mates.

Thank god somebody agrees... I only paused to notice the hips after being subjected to the musings of budding cultists the second I took a look at the forum. Fine, she's pretty hot. But a reveal of her face in ME3 could be interesting, and shattering the private fantasies of an entire community will be... amusing, to say the least.

Still, I find that, while the cults annoy me, Tali is a pretty cool character. Fine, she's agreeable and dependant on Shepard at times, but I'd like to see her become a stronger character in ME3, especially with all the talk of her being chosen as an Admiral. In ME1, she was prettymuch 1/3 innocence, 1/3 walking codex and 1/3 hips (dammit!). In ME2, she's come into her own a bit more, and she's grown up a bit. Maybe that process could continue into ME3? Thoughts, anybody?

Honestly. Tali's a good character. I even made her my LI. Personality seems more in-depth than most of the other characters, especially since she was in ME1. But most of the other characters have little or no personality. I mean look at Jacob: He pretty much marches everywhere, and follows orders. That's it. <_< Hell, Joker has more personality than him. Now, I agree that this cult nonsense should be killed off (with a flamethrower :D), but I don't agree that the solution is to hate Tali (not that I'm saying you guys are). I liked Tali because A. personality (always seemed a bit... quirkish [is that even a word?]), but also seems like a walking dictionary (which I find funny). Besides:
Who else would be able to repair the engines to get you back to friendly space after you crash into the collector base?

IMO this kind of threads of worship / hate this and that character are on in numbers, just because apparently everyones loves ME2, in fact I cannot remember a game where, apart from small stuff, everyone agrees its a damn good game...so instead of bashing or praising Bioware, we create some threads to make the NPC's even more alive...

Damn good job Bioware...

Lol, and people call the Talimancers immature.

Have fun spending your time hating on a character.

Instead of bashing on someone else's favorite character/romance, why not try and put some emphasis on YOUR favorite?

Immature post is immature. Also spiteful.

i wanna see her face, out of curiosity. i mean i already like her personality, character, culture, accent, and figure (two toes and three fingers hasn't stopped me yet.....).

but i'd also like to conclude the love interest route in the final chapter, as well as have her as a squad mate.

I don't get the hate, or the angle of having to put other fans of characters through 'pain'.
even if people think 'fair is fair' arguement, it's still not cool.

People who love Ash/Kaiden/and Liara (btw i like Liara a lot as well), ought to be happy that there is a near guranteed chance they'll return to your squad in the final chapter.

you won't see me ever, EVER hate on anyone elses favorite choices in love interests or even squad mates.
I don't care for Zaeed or Jack, but your not gonna see me bash them or root for them to be written out of the game.
(even though Zaeed has very little reason to stick around after the mission of ME2).

Tali's one of my favorite characters, but her more obsessive fans are just plain creepy.

This.

What I like about Tali is mostly her personality and VA. I found both her sidequests and her regular dialogue very touching. Besides, IMO, the rest of the female cast for ME2 plain sucked. Miranda I find far too much Mary Sue and Jack is a psychopath who I'd never let on my ship if I could. Tali and Garrus were my favorite companions in ME1 and I was overjoyed to find them both in ME2.

Both Liara and Ashley were very meh too me. I don't mind the romance for Tali, it's the one I picked and it was IMO very tastefully done with the exception of a few lines. If I could I would have picked her as LI for ME1 as well.

That said, the cult is extremely creepy, rule 34 and all that, just gotta live with it. I am all for seeing both her and Garrus return in ME3 though. Wrex would be cool to see as well, but doubt that's gonna happen. I can see why people who prefered ME1's LIs are a bit pissed about ME2 though, I personally hope they continue both ME1 and ME2's LIs in ME3.

As for her face, I am more or less curious about all Quarians, have been since ME1. Was cool to see the flotilla and the male Quarians in ME2, would be cool to see their faces in ME3.

wow... Why can't everyone let others have their fun? I really like Tali, and think Bioware did a great job with the character. She was one of the most interesting to me, in part because I like the Quarians... but you don't need to hear me justify why I like Tali, because it is clear that you don't and never will. And you know what? I'm fine with that! Because you hating Tali isn't hurting me. Just like me liking Tali isn't hurting you.

Agreed. There is absolutely no reason why everyone's favorites can't be included.

some people are just spiteful and immature.

Oh, and by the way;

http://ve3tro.com/72...dson-interview/

Mass Effect 3 has been reported to already be in the
planning stages. What things would you like to see improved from the
end of the development cycle of Mass Effect 2 to Mass Effect 3?

  • I think the biggest thing is first of all the resolution of all the
plots, all the decisions players have made throughout. Being able to
play and experience all the surviving cast members, all the characters
people liked. That’s one big part of it.

The other part though is really down to the feedback we’ll get
from fans having played Mass Effect 2. That’s going to be our biggest
focus is understanding the way people play our games and trying to make
them better based on what they say about them.

I found your essay to be a bit hostile, but interesting nonetheless. Until I read the part about murdering synthetics.

It's true, most of Tali's appeal probably comes from the fact that we don't know what her face looks like. Not knowing something keeps us interested, and once the mystery is solved, the interest can fade quickly.

Still, the attraction doesn't come from the mask alone. Most guys here seem to like Tali so much because she's smart, independent, caring, but still willing to get her hands dirty if necessary. She's actually a strong person. I wouldn't even call her "innocent". Cute, maybe, but not in the usual sense.

Also, she's obsessed about machines and technology, you might even call her a geek. And I mean that positively.

I think it was a joke. Let it go, it's not like Bioware is going to remove them as LI's because some people claimed it would be fun to torture others.

It's not what this thread was about anyway.

YOU WILL LOOK AT THE SIG, AND YOU WILL LIKE IT.

But seriously, I think most of us get what you're saying.

I find some of the stuff in the Tali threads...weird. There I said it.

I am a huge Talimance fan, but some people, who will remain nameless, take it, and jump over the line a lot.

My post was more directed at people like mox ruuga, who are just blatantly being immature and spiteful.:alien:

I don't really share your opinion of Tali being a very strong person. Her squad running off in the first mission against her orders being an example of this. Regardless, yes Tali isn't just popular because of her mask. But I can't believe the mainly sexual obsession comes from her personality.

There was a guy on here a while ago asking for a life size tali-doll. Thought he was joking at first, but he wasnt... I mean, to each his own but that is taking it far indeed.

The writers and artists at Bioware have shown their insights into the human/male psyche and created the most disturbing obsession currently known to mankind. The Tali-cult. I can only applaud them for their ruthless abuse of the weakminded.

Consider this, how does one make a pixel-woman loved and covetted by as many people possible? Creating a sexy body is easy to start with, the appreciation of certain features is instinctively present in all of us. Then suit her up in a tight suit to display and enhance these features for maximum effect, all pretty straightforward.

Now the hard part, her face. Faces are the most important means for humans to recognize each other. Our brains automaticly define many different facial attributes. With that many variables what is attractive to one person can be a turn off for the next. The solution: don't reveal it. People will naturally assume she is pretty because they WANT her to be. The mind makes her perfect because there is a lack of conflicting data.

Now to further people's interest, give her an alien and a slightly different or semi-familiar culture. The good old mysterious stranger trick. Let her speak your tongue flawlessly but with a defining accent. She is now familiar enough to be comfortable with but different enough to spark your curiousity, very clever.

Her personality needs to be mellow, so not to offend or annoy people. Strong enough to not make her a doormat. In short, make her average, predictable even. Add a bit of innonence to her personality and make her depend on and trust the main character..

A women with a hot body, a face of your choosing, foreign but no linguistic trouble and a personality that prevents nagging; an illusion of the perfect woman?

Your experiment succeeded, you can dominate the weak by portraying an unachievable but wonderfull reality. Now it's time to kill the monster you created Bioware! Reveal her face in Mass Effect 3, let the cries of anquish and discontent fill these forums. Release the ignorant from the cruel hold of their own fantasy. A fantasy you helped create and only you can destroy!

I beg of you, return to us these forums. No more "I want Tali's babies", "Tali-romance DLC please" or "I will love Tali forever" threads. This soap HAS to end, so we can all get back to murdering synthetics in peace and quiet.

lol you should lay down and die :P

It will be better if they just dont show her face, i mean maybe a bit through the helmet but not off the helmet, tali personality, voice, etc are good enough for me, no need to show her face, just like bungie did with Master Chief, You got to love somebody mostly for who they are and what they do, not just how they look, what if one day u have a  wife and she has a accident, would u stop loving her just because of that? think about it.

Mh, it's true, she seemed to lose control of her command for a while there. But I believe this only happened because that quarian who betrayed her was a mercenary, and his group was loyal to only him, while Tali was alone and didn't have anyone truly on her side. It may be true that she's not the best leader out there, but that doesn't mean that she can't have strong personality on her own.

Of course there are always some "extreme" fans who do some things that bystanders might deem strange. But not all people who appreciate Tali are like that.
