This can be resolved easely. If you don't like Tali then don't romance her and leave her alone. I don't see the point in making a thread about it. Let us Tali-lovers get our love. We're not complaining about Miranda or Jack lovers, so why you complaining about us?

because you mess with the tali image with your imaginations and show it off to everyone who looks.
I dont see a reason for let tali be alive in ME3 threads....praticaly everyone knows she gonna be there if she survived. Also build a house and marriage?I fans have as much power as they beleive that kind of stuff can ruin the character.

There has to be something wrong when these forums can turn a particularly likeable character into one of my most despised.

And why would you figure that? Those inane "OMGZ TALI ROMANCE IN ME2!!!11" threads prior to the games release grated on many others as much as they did me.  The fact that Bioware pandered to the fanboys actually disappointed me somewhat.

The people who say Tali sucks combat wise don't know how to use her. Use the drone right and she can make harbinger and similar enemies never even attack you.

As for whether shes likable or not, of course she is. The whole Quarian race is likable. I think the romance option was a little odd but overall she is one of the best characters in ME and I hope she returns for ME3.

Ah, but they aren't. There's a grand of total of two Tali-related threads on the front page, yours not included.

If you want to justify spitefulness and immaturity, try using something accurate. There are character threads for nearly EVERYONE.

Hey you guys should start a club.
Call it the Minority club, because that's exactly what you are minorities.
If you don't like the "tali love" then gtfo and good riddance.

Im not sure what to do with this...

I never said I liked or disliked the fictional Mass Effect character named Tali, I only pointed out the reason for the obsessive response of her "fans".

You zealously jumping to the defense of Tali kind of proofs my point. Don't worry though I talked about this with her, and she reassured me she wouldnt be offended.

lulz
I never said that you said you disliked tali dip****.
I said that you didn't like the "tali love", or in other words the love that tali is shown by fans is more fanatical in comparison to the love shown to other characters of the series.
I didn't zealously jump to any defense, bash tali all you want, but I just wanted to point out, you and all the anti-tali people are just as annoying as the "tali zealots".

And to counter the sentence in bold.
With statements like that I seriously have to question your mental stability, you may have been being sarcastic but you just succeeded in making yourself look like a fool. Congratulations!

Now go back in that hole that you crawled out of and leave everyone in peace. Thank You! ;)

Also,

http://ve3tro.com/72...dson-interview/

"Mass
Effect 3 has been reported to already be in the planning stages. What
things would you like to see improved from the end of the development
cycle of Mass Effect 2 to Mass Effect 3?

* I think the biggest
thing is first of all the resolution of all the plots, all the
decisions players have made throughout. Being able to play and
experience all the surviving cast members, all the characters people
liked. That’s one big part of it.

The other part though is
really down to the feedback we’ll get from fans having played Mass
Effect 2. That’s going to be our biggest focus is understanding the way
people play our games and trying to make them better based on what they
say about them. "

I love Tali. I think she's great in combat too. If there's a synthetic within 100 miles I always have her in my squad. "Go for the optics!!"

@the OP:

Great post, really. I like Tali, but this cult gets rather disturbing. One is reminded of why "fan" comes from "fanatic".

And I take a human for my love interest any day. You know, there is such a problem as physical compatibility. OK, men have been known to couple with knotholes, but still...

Tali is fairly obviously more compatible than, say Garrus.

Silly argument is silly.

Nice one OP, but it is the main reason BW won't show her face. The power of imagination

BTW her character is very nice, but hot body? Not really...too alien to judge by normal human standard imo.

To be fair, leave the cult alone.

To be honest her glowing eyes put me off a little - I could only assume they are like that naturally outside of the goldfishbowl helmet and that would be a bit too freaky for me. She could be Baby Cthulhu under there and I'd probably be less put off.

I can't say I understand all the obsession here (not that I'm saying it's really wrong), but I guess I would quite like to see what she's really like... can only be an improvement on Garrus ;)

You'd think you'd be praising bioware for creating what you yourself call the 'perfect woman.'

Tali's cool, i hope she's back in ME3, don't care either way on her face, and seriously, the fanatics can be rather creepy. at least they arent as scary as Twilight fans...

I don't really hate Tali, I just hate her fanbase. And not even all of her fanbase, either. The ones who go "I like Tali" are fine. The ones who scream and squee and generally act like children are the ones who have my ire.

Oh, and fanboys... Gaze upon the true face of your goddess!

Only part I disagree with, when there's a much better example of that in Miranda.

Yeah the argument "It is her personality that matters!" is a pretty weak argument meant to keep her face an unknown for the sake of their fantasy....

Kind of offensive for me personally, but that's just because I never had any kind of pre-conceived notion of what her face might look like.  And what, you think her personality doesn't matter to anyone?  Really?  Honestly I don't care how plain they make her look, because it's not her face, or lack thereof, that I find myself attracted to.

I'd take Wrex as a LI anytime, thanks.

Also, that line is one of the best in the game. So few words, so much respect

Despite me being a Tali fan, I agree that things are getting out of hand. Some of the posts and threads I have seen have been bit disturbing, if not downright scary. I still support that she is in ME3 and her character widely expanded. But there a ton of different threads about ALL characters of Mass Effects.

But your points why people like her are not really universal to all Tali fans. Good body? Errr, what about those legs and hands? I agree that she has nice arse and ******, but she is definetly not human-looking. Clearly a humanoid, though closer to human than, say, Garrus (his romance seems like borderline-bestiality if you ask me. :) )

Mysterious face is a nice touch though. I almost applauded Bioware "Well played" when I found out that you cant see her face. Satisfied "talimancers" while keeping the secret intact.

For me it was the personality. Some think she is bland but I simply find her to be most human out of the all LI's, despite her being alien. There is nothing alien nor mysterious about her other than her face and different culture. She is just so likeable and easily related to.

This is just me though. No xenophiliac fantasies nor loud fanboyism (too old for that anyway), I just like her.

To the OP,

You do have to remember that Bioware never intended nor expected Tali to have this level of fan-dom. In fact, they were surprised. It's not like they planned and designed her meticulously for this purpose. It's one of those out of the blue thing.

Personally, I like her. And if there's a lady with the exact same personality in this world, I'd definitely be interested. You probably had most of it correct on why she's appealing personality-wise, but there's one more thing - she's also totally unassuming.

True. If my memory serves me well, didnt Bioware had a plan for Tali-romance for ME1, but scratched it thinking she wont be a popular character, but it turnout out  to be quite opposite? (as it shows) People "fell in love" with her and kept asking/demanding why she isnt romanceable?

This is just my memory though. In any case, nothing was really planned for her, it all came out of the blue. And for good reason IMHO.
