The writers and artists at Bioware have shown their insights into the human/male psyche and created the most disturbing obsession currently known to mankind. The Tali-cult. I can only applaud them for their ruthless abuse of the weakminded.

Consider this, how does one make a pixel-woman loved and covetted by as many people possible? Creating a sexy body is easy to start with, the appreciation of certain features is instinctively present in all of us. Then suit her up in a tight suit to display and enhance these features for maximum effect, all pretty straightforward.

Now the hard part, her face. Faces are the most important means for humans to recognize each other. Our brains automaticly define many different facial attributes. With that many variables what is attractive to one person can be a turn off for the next. The solution: don't reveal it. People will naturally assume she is pretty because they WANT her to be. The mind makes her perfect because there is a lack of conflicting data.

Now to further people's interest, give her an alien and a slightly different or semi-familiar culture. The good old mysterious stranger trick. Let her speak your tongue flawlessly but with a defining accent. She is now familiar enough to be comfortable with but different enough to spark your curiousity, very clever.

Her personality needs to be mellow, so not to offend or annoy people. Strong enough to not make her a doormat. In short, make her average, predictable even. Add a bit of innonence to her personality and make her depend on and trust the main character..

A women with a hot body, a face of your choosing, foreign but no linguistic trouble and a personality that prevents nagging; an illusion of the perfect woman?

Your experiment succeeded, you can dominate the weak by portraying an unachievable but wonderfull reality. Now it's time to kill the monster you created Bioware! Reveal her face in Mass Effect 3, let the cries of anquish and discontent fill these forums. Release the ignorant from the cruel hold of their own fantasy. A fantasy you helped create and only you can destroy!

I beg of you, return to us these forums. No more "I want Tali's babies", "Tali-romance DLC please" or "I will love Tali forever" threads. This soap HAS to end, so we can all get back to murdering synthetics in peace and quiet.

Hey you guys should start a club.
Call it the Minority club, because that's exactly what you are minorities.
If you don't like the "tali love" then gtfo and good riddance.

Both adoring and anti-clubs can **** it if you ask me.

I am not into Tali's whatever club, but I do like her more than others. The history and her personality and admitted, her face mask just keeps it entertainable. A romancee that felt more emotional than actual touching.

But as you can see,  you are out-numbered by people who are all over her and facing the consequences of the actions YOU alone performed, should be done with dignity.

To the OP,

You do have to remember that Bioware never intended nor expected Tali to have this level of fan-dom. In fact, they were surprised. It's not like they planned and designed her meticulously for this purpose. It's one of those out of the blue thing.

True. If my memory serves me well, didnt Bioware had a plan for Tali-romance for ME1, but scratched it thinking she wont be a popular character, but it turnout out  to be quite opposite? (as it shows) People "fell in love" with her and kept asking/demanding why she isnt romanceable?

This is just my memory though. In any case, nothing was really planned for her, it all came out of the blue. And for good reason IMHO.

This is correct.

That's why moderate, balanced people are amazing, like me.

Undecided, half in, half out, fence-hopping and people who **** no matter who wins..

But yeah, Tali wasn't designed in the mind to start a cult, it just happened, I bet the voice actor feels either disgusted or flattered by such reactions.

Okay, since I'll probably never do it in-game, I just checked out the romance scenes on YouTube.

Not only did it totally creep me out, but I'm now completely creeped out by anyone clamoring for Tali romance. Anyone willing to put their own libido ahead of sickness and potential death is completely selfish. Using Tali's 'schoolgirl crush' to manipulate her into a health endangering relationship borders on (and in my mind, crosses the line of) physical and emotional abuse.

Yes, I realize it's a game, and it's all fantasy and imagination. But my point is that the directions that some people's fantasies lead them seriously disturbs me.

Actually she wanted to have a physical relationship, even before you even start flirting with her.

Quarians immune systems also adapt so the more times she spends with Shepard the less chance she has of getting sick.

Ummmm... She is an adult. And apparently she had an crush since ME1, so it isnt like it happened suddenly. Plus while she has weak immunity system, it doesnt necessarily kill her as long as fluid exhange stays low. Applies to both quarian + human and turian + human. She just gets sick because her immunity system gets confused and causes an allergic reaction to foreign thing, something she can adapt to as time passes, and thing she IS willing to go through obviously. You are making a lot of noise over nothing.

Hey all just like they made a anti Liara thread, ignore the trolls, they eventually die and/or starve to death and then they start spouting out random stupid stuff which gets them a lock.

I suggest reporting this thread en masse and this will get it locked.

I just hope they do it for the lols.

The rage and hippocrisy here would be fantastic.

I like Tali's character a lot, sickeningly adorable. But my Shep don't swing that way, that is I don't tag anything that may have a different number of chromosones.

I want to eat a pizza the size of my living room covered in japanese blowfish. Just because I want a thing, doesn't mean I should do it, especially if it could endanger my health.

And how exactly did I make a lot of noise with one little opinion post? Methinks thou dost protest too much.

Edit: Since the damage is already done, let me just finish off with adding my total support to the OPs suggestion. Let's see this creature that has so many BioWare fans' hearts aflutter.

You worded your opinion rather strongly, giving impression that everyone who liked Tali enough to start romance her were basically just selfish abusers, without real background to your claims so backlash is not exactly unwarranted. If that was not you meant, thenI take back my protest.

And again, it is not deadly for her (with help of immunoboosters at first) nor Shepard. She gets sick, but she can adapt and no longer get sick. Most dangerous thing would happen is if she... hmmm... ingests... As Mordin puts it. :)

It seems pretty clear to me that we're being set up for the big reveal in ME3.  Shepard will be able to negotiate peace between the "true" Geth (paragon) or to choose between the Geth or the Quarians and launch some kind of devastating atack on the other side (renegade.)  Either path will have the potential to restore to the Quarian people their homeworld, either in peaceful co-existence or as exclusive residents.  Only then will the player see Tali'Zorah's face.  We'll probably see her in casual atire with exposed midriff, but she (and other Quarian females) will have an open hood or scarf over her head, just as they currently wear a hood over their masks.

I have to disagree with the OP in one respect. I don't think Bioware expected this when they created Tali, let alone planned it. One look at the legs and claws of these creatures suggests that they are based on birds or perhaps theropod dinosaurs. The fact that a Quarian is in fact a type of cockatoo further suggests that the designers were thinking of a birdlike creature. I imagine something along the lines of an ostrich or perhaps a velociraptor. I think the asari were intended to be the sexy aliens and this bird-woman fetish that has arisen has probably taken Bioware by surprise.

You kind of are, the Tali fan club is the largest on the site, it's three times bigger then the seconds largest char. fan club which is for Garrus.

You also assume that people who like Tali have a "bird-woman fetish" and it's not her personality that people love, she has a cutesy shy type of personality, some people find that really attractive.

I didn't word it strongly, I just didn't beat around the bush. I tried to phrase it in a way that didn't directly insult anyone, since it was just an opinion. The OP discussed people's fantasies about Tali, and that's where I went with my comment. I wasn't attempting to troll at all, since I was in complete agreeance with the OP, I guess I just needed to state that a bit more clearly.

And for the record, Tali's cool, I'm not a hater, I just find it disturbing that people would even take the chance of endangering her health (in the context of a game). And sure, I'd like to see her face, to see what all the hubbub's about. But if we never see it, I'm not going to lose sleep.

I think that mask makes Tali Tali by removing it BW might as well kill the character..

Honestly it reminds me of the original SW trilogy were you were so used to seeing DV with the helm that by the time we see his full face its a total meh..

It's all personel preference, I like her personality and found it really funny when she got all flustered when I started flirting with her.

I'm not going to join the fanatics though, some of the stuff they say about what they would do with Tali is just down right creepy.
