She, Kelly, comments on Garrus as well if I not mistaken.

From what I remember, she comments on wanting to help him and female Shepard has the option to express interest. However, in my two playthroughs I only recall her specifically mentioning Tali liking the player.

Coming form the position of wanting both for the game, out of all of the love interests in the game Tali is the best suited for both genders. Not that others are not suited, just that it is easiest to see interest from her in a female Shepard. If you look at it that way of course, she would be hard to read if she were a real person and didn't have Kelly there to bold face tell you (and why does she only comment on Tali by the way?).

Does Kelly even talk about Tali wanting to be more than friends with female shepard? Probably not. That's evidence enough that Tali isn't interested. You are projecting your own stereotypes of sexuality onto Tali here. Sexuality is not concrete. A gay man does not have to be effeminate. Someone in a suit does not have to completely ignore the appearance and gender of a possible love interest. Someone who believes that personality is more important than appearance does not have to be bisexual.

no it doesn't, Brahlis. it might boil down to the gist of Wugger's post, if you want to take his comment at face value, but to suggest that that is the gist of the entire thread is as silly as his comment.

Yea, so it seems. Male players thinking that it would be totally hawt if their Shepard can be a lesbian. Very typical. I am willing to bet that most Female Shepard and Liara romances were conducted by male players who wanted to see some lesbian action or were too squemish to pursue Kaidan.

The idea that something is hot and so should be evidence enough is so insulting to the fans, or maybe it is just insulting to me.

I bought this game, both games, for the idea of a fun space rpg with choices, outcomes and an interesting story with interesting characters to interact with.

Not for the hawt factor.

I know how to get porn and I have a girlfriend I can get plenty of hawt if need be.  Also lesbians as a fetish don't do it for me personally, call me weird but that is where I stand.

I am not arguing against same sex romances though I am arguing that people just want more of the same while poor gay/bisexual male Shepard has no outlet.

But who cares because lesbians are hawt.

Thanks.

Wow, I said a lot it seems. A lot more than what was in the post especially. Let's address this one at a time; the Kelly thing jumps at me since she only comments on Tali liking the player and no one else. It's jarring. As for Tali's personality, I said that she only comes off as liking a female Shepard romantically if you choose to see it like that. Her actions can be read either way. I'm not the one putting my own views into a character here.

Get that "in-game" **** out of here, man. You can't bring actual facts or actual in-game events into this thread. You know very well this thread's foundation is baseless assumptions, vague inferences, and hopes rather than what is actually displayed in game.

Remember ... "what if" and lame excuses.

I don't think people will ever get quiet about LIs until the galaxy becomes one big bisexual space orgy.

*spoiler warning* (don't read below if you really want to see it for yourself, but......

she makes a comment about Garrus being so sad and that she wants to give him a big hug or something of the sort. at which point you can choose something like "what about me"? (flirting with Kelly), "So do i" (implying you are interested in Garrus),  or the standard nuetral stuff that indicates nothing.

You can do the same with the maleShep, except you don't have the option to select that you want to hug him.

Yet the Tali conversation from Kelly never comes to the femShep. Ohmahgawd, devs must have some hidden meaning in that - or better yet let's blame EA! There's no way they designed the character straight! To arms, femSheps!

I find your argument that a romance with Tali would hinge on Shepard's actions, character and whatever spiritual, emotional and intellectual affinity arises between the two and *not* on what gender Shepard happens to be, very convincing.  It is unlikely that Tali would expect Shepard to look beyond the mask and their species' incompatibilities while at the same time refusing to look beyond Shepard's gender.

Well, I think there's a good chance Wrex might be bisexual too. What if when he headbutted that green Krogan when you meet him, it was actually some hidden mating ritual they perform? I mean, I felt a lot of sexual tension between the two. Hell, I felt it between him and Shepard. I KNOW I'M RIGHT ON THIS! I mean, he would obviously only be attracted to Renegade Shepard since his personality doesn't match well with a Paragon shep. Because otherwise it would be an unbalanced character and not make sense. Wrex ends up respecting Shepard - dare I say love - and to not have him act on these inhibitions I know I'm right about is just wrong.

It makes perfect sense. And it's only fair since the femShep got a lesbian relationship in the game!!!1!!!one!!!!

So there you have it. Nail in the coffin for those thinking that Tali "should" be a lesbian option.

Kelly is obviously pretty open (not to mention being bisexual AND attracted to aliens), so it is doubtful she would have reservations about telling female shepard if Tali was interested.

Tali wasn't a romance option in ME1. Many felt she should be. Now she is one.

Go figure.

This is different. She IS a romance option in ME2 in the first place. She wasn't in ME1. Yet, in ME2, she's only an option for males. I am particularly against the reasoning the OP gives for Tali being a lesbian romance option.

I did not even mention anything gender-related one single bit.

We are very much allowed to voice what we would like to see in the game. The "dictatorship"-argument is bollocks and basically a slap in the face of the fans. Bioware did apparently listen a lot to what fans wanted in ME2 and some of it found it's way into the final product.

ME3 is in the future.

This has probably all been said before, but heres my take on it.

Not everyone is homosexual!
Just like those guys who think they can cure/turn lesbians straight are being stupid, so are the people that think they can do the opposite.
If a character if written straight, then they are straight. I don't care that you think shepard is so drop dead gorgeous and awesome that every asari on the citidel will drop their pants in unison, and they can turn straight women bi-curious with a swish of their hips, thats purely in the realms of fantasy.
"But it's my game, i should decide" i hear you say
It's biowares game. their story, you're just playing it.
Like if you're reading harry potter, and think snape and harry should be a couple. Not your story. You're just reading it.

Would i of been annoyed if Tali would have been made female-only-romance? Not really, no. If the character is lesbian, then nothing shepard could do would change that.

You know what i want to see in ME3? a strong, inteligent, charismatic, beautiful woman, who is lesbian, only a love interest for women, and if you even try to hit on her as a male Shepard, you get rejected.

Not being romancable at all compares to her being bisexual, riiiiiight. Keep reaching, people, you can quote Brahlis for truth.
The game has to be consistent. If FemShep is bi, then MaleShep has to be bi, too, OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY!
Besides, there's more than enough gay love in DAO with characters just as interesting as the ME characters.
