I've finished Mass Effect before and I've romanced ashley, but during my latest playthrough I can't seem to trigger the romance.  I saved Ashley on Virmire and talked to her after every mission(paragon).  I know there's a scene when shepard is alone on the ship and ashley approaches him, but that didn't happen this time.  It was just shepard standing alone.
Anyone know what could cause this to happen?

You never tried to romance or did romance Liara maybe?

I always romance both Liara and Ashley and dont choose until ashely and liara confront you to choose. Seems to trigger every time.
