I am fighting the temptation (and will likely lose) to re-roll my first character, my Dalish elf, and replay her story because I feel I RPed it so badly, and missed so many things, since she was my first time through.  There were lots of decisions I felt I did out of character, simply because I wanted to try things in the game.  And with Awakening coming up, where those decisions might affect game play (and heck, just because her story will continue) I want to do her story and her character justice.

So, confess.  How many of you have rerolled characters, especially first characters, to do things "right"?  Make me feel better for being OCD about this!  :P

I rerolled my Fem Surana because the first time through was badly bugged. I'm planning on rerolling her again, though, since I liked playing her so much.

I re-roll constantly because I may not like the way my character looks after seeing their face up close in cut-scenes, or perhaps I'll screw up the way I did a quest or their stats. For the most part, it's their appearance. It would help if I could play through some kind of starter area so I could see my character's face up close or how it looks in-game, and then make changes if I don't like something. (Oblivion's starter dungeon comes to mind)

I've played through the dwarf noble and human noble origin stories + Ostagar so much, I pretty much have the dialogue memorized.

Many, many times. But mostly because I either detested my char's look, or how I leveled him up, etc., so yeah, dont feel bad, Tigress, you're not alone in your OCD ;)

I'm thinking about it, for the life of me can't remember if I hardened Alistair on my first play through or not (have a feeling I didn't). I would probably make the same decisions all over again and do the game in the same order as usual (always end up doing Redcliffe first, just for the "So you're a royal bastard?" line) but probably wouldn't bugger up my stats/gear so much, like having Alistair in medium gear *sigh* Overall was VERY satisfied with my first epilogue and want to stick with it for Awakening but I think I could build my character a little better now.

I replayed my first character, Alqua Surana, two times. The first time I stopped after I finished Broken Circle, Nature of the Beast and the first part of Art of Redcliffe, because I wasn't happy with the way I built him and with some roleplaying choices early on. When I restarted, I was extra careful and to this day, with other characters under my belt, I've no doubt that Alqua is *my* character :D

i don't think im going to re roll, considering i still have to complete a game with a female. though i can't decide if i should go with my female dalish elf or my female HN, because i love getting revenge on Howe so very much. i was thinking FHN so she could marry Alistair at the end, but we shall see.

what i am having trouble deciding is which character to start awakening with, since i have saves where both survive. if Morrigan is confirmed to be in the game then i'll go with my mage who had the romance with her, and if Leliana is in it then i'll go with my HN who romanced her.

If neither of the leading ladies show up then probably my HN, being a dual wielding warrior was just so much more fun then being a mage. :wizard:

I've literally created dozens of characters that never got past Ostagar.

I've almost gotten this down to a science. My latest rogue has Momentum at level 2 thanks to a mod that frees up the skill wasted by poison.

My first character was a disaster both RP- and gameplay-wise, and I never re-rolled her, but did create a new city elf and had a much more satisfying playthrough. I'm attached to all my characters, though, so there is no one who is quintessential for me. I guess it says something that I deleted my earlier characters but have been hanging on to the past few, with enough saves that I can re-create them at various points during their "lifespans." It has been bittersweet having to finish their games.

My first character sat in the Brecilian forest cooling her heels while I did a bunch of other playthroughs. I finally went back and finished her. She was a bit gimped due to poor choices I had made earlier, but I still had fun. Wouldn't re-roll her, if I really dislike a character, I delete them.

My HNM playthrough was deeply flawed. I deleted it.. I've replayed HNF multiple times to get things I missed, etc, or make decision changes, starting from scratch each time. They're basically the same character, I suppose, even with the changes.

I re-rolled my first Female CE Warrior several times, so you're far from alone! She will be first to go through Awakening.

My current avatar is a "re-imagining" of the first character I beat the Archdemon with. Having played Human Noble from start to finish, I saw how much potential it had for a great, heroic story. Unfortunately I had rolled him as a rogue and gone with some sorta sociopathic choices... so I re-rolled him as a more straight-laced Sword and Shield warrior.

lol Thanks guys. You do realize that this is what I will spend my weekend doing now, right? Around the mountain of work my PI just put in my lap, anyways. Ah well, girl's gotta have some fun somehow.

Twice.

My first character (human mage) restarted after2.5 hours of play because I didn't feel I'd dealt with the origin issues as well as I should have.  And then later, I had to back up and replay Warden's Keep and all of the Deep Roads because I'd broken character to pick up Shale and that came back to bite me when I met Caridin, so I had to go back, not get Shale, and then redo things that had taken me 25 hours to do the first time.

I'll probably redo some of my earlier 1's too, especially with RTO out. I know I can just reload from an earlier save but it's so much funner redoing especially if I didn't like some of the decision's I made lol... But I'm definitely redoing my first 1 cause I missed out on so much by doing a quick runthrough lmao. So ya I'm doing a re-roll lol n maybe more than 1 pc :)

I don't necessarily re-roll, although I had this happen when I moved from gaming on one computer to my new one, and I didn't feel like porting the savegames over. I do, however, have a ton of savegames, so if I screw up on something, I don't have to go back too far to fix it. I'll typically just finish out the one I started and then start a new character/alt, usually in a different class and/or gender, because I want to see how the story changes with the new alt.

Yeeeeah, Harrie's been played a few times. I keep meaning to roll a new character but they always end up as just means to finishing achievements before I go back to playing a fresh version of my original character.

Sometimes I give her different hair though.

I liked my character so much I made nearly all the same decisions, made him look nearly identical, named him the same, etc. just so I could enjoy his experience again. I'm thinking about doing it a third time :o

Let's see. Redid my rogue twice. 1st one I redid before we got out of Lothering. Second I had made it almost to the landsmeet. Beat the game with the third one. Then I actually played through as a rogue again because my first rogue didn't get all the cool equipment (I didn't know that the Wade's guy shut you out and missed out on Felon's Coat) and I thought there was an off chance that Awakenings might import gear. I also made several different story choices. Most notably supporting Bhelan as opposed to Harrowmont. He'll be my main awakenings character.

Then I started on an Arcane Warrior. I'm on my 3rd version of that. 1st one I forgot that I had repec mod still active and that doesn't let me name the dog so I had to start over with that disabled. 2nd one (which was based on my first one) I made really bad spell choices and by the time I realized it I was stuck in the damn circle tower and didn't want to do the fade solo with a gimp build. So yeah, totally not alone.

I'm totally going to do this with my female city elf. I'm actually pretty damned happy with her ending, but I know I missed a lot.

I did, but not out of RP. I made an Arcane Warrior first off, but watching Alistair got Shield Bash envy, so just made a sword n shield warrior version. :B
