I did, but not out of RP. I made an Arcane Warrior first off, but watching Alistair got Shield Bash envy, so just made a sword n shield warrior version. :B
Shield bashing is SOOOO much fun! I have a blast playing with my sword and shield HNF!

I've restarted characters after getting about halfway through the campaign, I've restarted after getting past Lothering, past Ostagar, past the origin, etc etc so many times that I've only finished one complete playthrough. And I restarted that character but will restart her once again for a full playthrough before Awakening comes out because her story is by far my favorite (and I've appreciated things more by replaying it)...
Darn it I have so many characters I like- if only I could finish them. >.<

Me too! She's easily my favorite. I'm trying to resist the urge to roll another sword and shield warrior >.>;

Whenever I find one of those things and say, no, it's just not right, I tend to delete the character altogether. And start a new one. I currently have 12 characters, but I've probably created upwards of 30 or so.

I am fighting the temptation (and will likely lose) to re-roll my first character, my Dalish elf, and replay her story because I feel I RPed it so badly, and missed so many things, since she was my first time through. There were lots of decisions I felt I did out of character, simply because I wanted to try things in the game. And with Awakening coming up, where those decisions might affect game play (and heck, just because her story will continue) I want to do her story and her character justice.
So, confess. How many of you have rerolled characters, especially first characters, to do things "right"? Make me feel better for being OCD about this!
I rerolled twice my first character Lythis much because of her face that I didn't liked.
I rerolled a whole new character, Laurinacle after finishing Lythis story whcich really made me angry because of her romance with Alistair since how the hell I should've know that you can harden him ? >_> I won't talk about the stupid ritual, couldn't bring myself to make her ask Alsitair, so Lythis died on archedemon by keeping her pure love for Alistair.
Now with Laurinacle, I will avoid that damn ritual by letting Loghain die on archedemon so she won't have to ask Alistair to sleep with Morrigan. Yes, by doing this she will loose Alistair forever, but it's okay she will be alright with Zevran. All matter for Laurinacle is her and Alistair safety with the kingdom

I loved my first character and my first play-through. I'm an incredibly slow player, and I have the habit of going everywhere and doing everything. I also save lots of times, so I usually had a save to go back to when she really messed up. She'll stay where she is right now, her story is complete.
My second play-through was my HNF rogue (see avatar) but she is currently on ice, because I let myself be talked into a HNF warrior, and I really like this warrior PC the best. She is a DW warrior, looks absolutely smashing, and is all around awesome. She just got done, and is also finished.
If the romances can't carry over(and I highly doubt they can/will), my 'Awakening PC' will be a Orlesian Warden. Or I'll run through doing no romance, and then carry her over.

Complicating the matter is that I've probably rolled about six or seven more characters, most of whom haven't gotten past Ostagar.

So the second time, I was a city elf instead and experienced much more of the game. And also I was able to pull strings behind the scenes the way I wanted. I finished the game with this one, but I was *really* torn about the ending. I chose to make the killing blow, since asking Loghain to do it just felt wrong. But after seeing what Leliana did in the Epilogue I felt so bad about that. I have both saves still there...I think when Awakening comes out I'll use the one where Loghain dies.
After that I made some new characters to see some of the different origins, but I'll always think of that city elf as my "main character."

BTW, I'm also redoing my dwarf commoner, too. I liked her first playthrough and really enjoyed the story enough to want to do it again. This time I decided to drastically change her look so she'd have red hair and green eyes like her sister and drunk mom. That just really adds to the fun. The dwarves are the only ones I've played multiple times. I just really love them. I kind of suffer through the elves and I hated the human playthrough, but I stuck it out because I wanted to see what extra dialogue humans had. Now I understand why some players seem to talk as if the game is the human noble's world and everyone else just lives in it. =p

All that said, I still have not completed the game with a Dwarf Noble or a Dalish elf. I've started three of the former, but I'm having trouble sticking with a character concept that works, which is sad since I think the Dwarf Noble has so much potential for awesomeness.
