If it happens I lose all respect for Bioware/EA.

Why on earth would BW do such a thing ? This is a singleplayer experience and should stay that way.
Not everything has to be multiplayer and mmo etc! God I hate those things with a passion myself.

I believe the mass effect series, as well as the Dragon Age series, are exempt from such EA conditions. One of the terms of the merger contract I think. I remember seeing some place last year when the merger happened that all ongoing projects would be uneffected by EA, just new ones.

I'll stick with my opinion. A few Co-op sidequests would be good fun with a few friends, and none of you can deny that. It would absolutely kick ass!
But as for the main story, it must be left totally seperate from the Co-op aspect.
Also, if anyone thinks TDM or CTF would be good for ME, you should be put out of your misery!

BUMP!
A multiplayer coop mode would be fun as, playing through the main story with a few mates, through either LAN, or some other network. Doesn't have to be a friggin' MMO(rpg). Think Diablo multiplayer.

I'm not a big fan of multi player (co-op or otherwise) but I won't be too bothered if it's in Mass Effect 3. I just won't use the option, because that's all it would be an option, I highly doubt it would be something mandatory, so I can't see why it's an issue either way.
Besides for everyone who really doesn't want it with a passion the "if it's got MP I'm not gonna buy it" brigade, they always have the blame EA excuse, coz obviously there is no way in hell that BioWare would ever want to try something new or add something different through choice.

look all these multi player co/op threads are getting out of controll everyday... can a mod make some sort of official co-op multiplayer thread that way we dont have to see 50 of the same threads everyday?

If Shepard died in ME2 then it could be feasible..... leave it for the spinoff titles.

Not a chance!
Single player > Multiplayer!
MMO games are really bad executed, balance ruin the sense of the game!

Multiplayer is good for some games. I never had as much fun playing L4D alone - was always more fun with another person. And some games are designed around being an MMO - playing EQ2 or Aion without someone else was usually a little boring.
But Mass Effect 3? Dragon Age 2 (or whatever)? No thanks. I play Mass Effect and Dragon Age to get away from the MMO. If I want to play an MMO I'll play a game that's designed for it. I do love my single player RPG's.
Besides, how many people are going to play Mass Effect 3 if they can't be Shepard? Or are you going to have a group full of Shepards - which wouldn't make any sense at all.

The problem with going MP with both ME3 and a future DA2 is that those stories, set by past games, are very much a personal thing. YOU are Shepard (or the Warden), its YOUR story, multiplayer takes that personal story and ruins it by suddenly saying "ok, your not so special anymore." I hope they dont mess with great single player games like these, there are far to few games now that dedicate to a proper and indepth single player story and focus on multiplayer (which I cant use even if I wanted too).

If singleplayer doesn't suffer in anyway then I have no problem with it. If it turns out to be good then that's a bonus.
I doubt it would be anything more than deathmatch etc and/or co-op missions/survival mode if it did happen. Proper Co-Op (As epic as it could be) would be a bit of a hassle to make and support me thinks.

Wow, another multiplayer thread?
Anyway, in ME3... dear god no. Its been a single player game till now, finish it that way!

There's no way the main storyline could be multiplayer, co-op or otherwise. The whole plot is about Shepard and his team. Won't happen.
Id they want to release some add-on in the future apart from the ME trilogy, or Dragon Age for that matter, then fine.

I absolutely can't imagine Mass Effect with Multiplayer, it would just be odd.

They would lose fans lol?
Guys Mass Effect is being mainstreamed, forget what Chris and Stan are saying. If they feel they can get a couple thousand more sales in multiplayer I would bet on Bioware doing it.
This is what the games market is, look at Bioshock 2. Principles and standards are just there to be bought and sold.
lol, clueless guy is clueless.
They would lose more dedicated players than they'd gain, it's damn simple: ME is a sp game

I really hope ME3 will be MP Free
Mass Effect is my not only my favorite single player series, but favorite 2 games in general, mainly for the Single Player experience. I in no way want any part of the Single player to be toned down due to effort being put into Multiplayer. instead I want the effort put in to make ME3 even better than the first and second....to be an AMAZING climax to an AMAZING story.....annnnnnd maybe *cough*abiggercitadelandasarihomeworldandbiggerexplorableplaces*cough* but yeah personally I do not think Mass Effect needs a Multiplayer (and the only thing I can think of with it incorporated into the third game is some bummer juju)
My thoughts.
Please NO MP in my ME3 :-)

I'd love a co-op. I'll be Legion, you be Shepard, we'll bring Miranda for some eye candy and go kill stuff. What's not to love?

Wouldn't necessarily be bad. It's not my first preference, but it's unlikely to affect the singleplayer. EA's also been recently splitting its single player and multiplayer development into different teams, so there's little overlap.

If Bioware can introduce a multiplayer co-op without impacting the development of the single player, I see no reason why they can't include it.
Even something like a Splinter Cell Deniable Ops co-op play would be pretty cool.

Very doubtful, the powers seem a bit unfair for a Multiplayer game.

to much negativity... i support single player on mass effect 3 and hope there is no multiplayer, here is my thought what if the multiplayer obviously not based on shepard but the war itself that will be going on vs the reapers and there allies this is a war that takes place in probably all known space a multiplayer with a story designed could possibly add a chapter to the ME universe we wouldn't have otherwise telling you about the moments shepar and his crew are not there to see.... but please just keep it single player bioware make ME 4 the multiplayer! since shepards story will be over.
