I am having nightmares with controlling my group, Passive, defense, etc doesnt seem to make much of an diffence when trying to control my party members, So my question is there commands for disabling the group? make them stay in oneplace? dont move? I'm sick of flighting some mob only to see one member run to the next group, which gets me killed.
Stay or Dont move group command?

H will get them to Hold. This way they all stand there waiting, you can run in and pull a group, and run back to them.
On consoles, it is in the Advanced tab of the radial menu.

Under the party portraits, right button. It's a walking man when they can move/use tactics, and a stop hand when they can't move. They will engage enemies at extremely close range while a halt order is in effect though.

underneath their portraits there's two small circular buttons, the first one is for tactics, the second is to make your party not move....if you're playing on PC i think the key is 'H'....

On PC you can use keyboard command 'H' to toggle hold for the party. There are also little icons just below the avatars of your party that you can use to 'hold' or 'move freely'.

The one thing I wish you could do, which I'm pretty sure you can't but it certainly warrants asking, is elect for one or two members of the party to hold position, and allow the rest to move freely. But as far as I can tell this command can only be applied to the entire group. Anyone find any differently?

I don't have the game in front of me right now, but for having just one or two stay behind could be as simple as having the whole party "hold" then (at least on the PC) select all the members you want to move. Those not selected should stay behind.

put the party in hold, the zoom out and shift click any party members you want to move(or shift + f1/f2/f3/f4) or you can drag a box round the ones you wish to move. cant be dont in explore mode though. and then just move them by click on the ground where you want them to go.

Right, I understand that. You can still move people from place to place, but once you move them they won't move freely afterward. They will simply 'Hold' this new position. If you toggle to allow them to move freely, then it applies to the people you left where they were too. They are prone to decide they have a better idea than staying put. I've tried to find a counter to this in Tactics, with only marginal success.
I don't know if this is an area where the programming or such would be an issue to allow it, and I'm certainly not complaining. And perhaps there is a way I haven't found yet. But I would be even more happy if they elected to make this option available in a future patch (again, assuming we're not just missing it. Heck, I looked all over the "Options" trying to turn on auto-level, before my roommate finally pointed it out in the Character Records).
Thanks for the advice though.
