Biotics are good against armor. Warp and singularity both work great on armored foes.

I'd take Energy Drain. That gives you a good cooldown to use against shields. Warp Ammo is another good choice just for the extra DPS. Really, you don't need one on an Adept, though.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I really don't.

I'm playing through Insanity on a Vanguard and it's an absolute breeze. I only die when I accidentally hop over cover instead of behind it or get "cover stuck" while sprinting.

But when I hop on my Insanity playthrough with my Adept, I die... A lot. I'm talking dying 5-10 times anytime there's a special enemy (Big mech, Colossus, etc.). It's bugging me.

I'm just getting whooped. It's quite possible that it's just counter to my playstyle, but I like the class and want to get good.

What's the strategy? Warp, warp, warp, Sing + Warp? Should I use Singularity even before their defenses are down to get them to stumble? Should I move in close so my pistol shots are more accurate or stay at distance? Should I send my people in close or keep them back?

It's killing me!

Beginning rule, as an adept, you don't kill people with guns - it's much less efficient/much longer/much dangerous for you to kill people with guns than it is for you to use biotic powers.

First of all, use singularity even on protected enemies - best if you can use it on multiple enemies to stun them.

Then you shoot - not to kill, but to strip down defenses. The only use of weapons for the adept is to strip down defenses, nothing else - except against praetorians and final boss.

Shuriken machine pistol and geth pulse rifles are really good in stripping down defenses so they're your adept's best weapons in most battles.

Hey all, I've got a special gameplay treat for you. A no guns run of the final mission.

Part 1

I'll be updating when new ones are done compressing, uploading, and are of acceptable quality.

Don't worry, I'll be doing a guide for the Derelict Reaper and this final mission very soon. I just decided to push ahead and do this to see if it was possible.

Yes, an all biotics team works well in that area, as it has no shielded enemies. It is still necessary even in that area for the adept to mostly spam singularity and warp though and the adept is much more dependant on his squad than the soldier classes are since weaons/ammo are not gimped in insanity but biotics are.

I just wanted to say thanks, I finished my adept/insanity run last night and I never would have gotten there without your advice.

I would assume because Overload is really no use on the last mish and Samara comes with Pull or Throw as well.

Samara is the only ally who has a biotic/armor damage ability (reave) and pull. If I had heavy reave, I would be one shotting those collector drone barriers and it would've made this last mission even easier. However Area Reave is still good and was really useful on the husks.

I take miranda alot for the warp/overloads, especially fighting mercs. Samara is more my anti collector/blood pack squadmate.

I take thanes warp over mirandas because he can use snipers which are just absolutely beastly in the hands of your allies. Also his throw is really helpful against husks.

hmm i see... it really depends on the mission, but on the first playthrough i think you would choose other way ;-) not specialists more to universal types.

Today i got Samara and left 10 skill points for the reave ;-) so i think i will run with thane/samara combo too.

Btw i dont know how it works on insanity but on veteran i saw that warp destroys shields too. But maybe on insanity it's a matter of CDs you need so it's not optimal there

I have a question for ya!  I always spec my teammates totaly wrong, how would you go about speccing most of them to get the most out of their skills?

Also, after I max my singularity, char passive, and heavy warp, what should I go for next?

Great.

I think I'll make another Insanity Adpet just so that I can get the AR. Maybe I'll wait till Kasumi or the Hammerhead is released.

I'd actually recommend you put a single point in throw and pull asap before maxing all those out. After that single point though, max away.

If you spec'd your allies wrong, your going to have to mod your game to fix it unfortunately. Don't despair though, the absolute best squad combo isn't a requirement, its just a recommendation.

If you really want to change it, there is a save game modder out there somewhere but I'm not bold enough to try it.

Ahh no Im on the 360, BUT, I just started this adept, Im on the last part of horizon, so I was just trying to get squad advice before I start dumping points, I specced them all wrong on my first 2 guys :(

Also, I vote that you do this for the engineer next! I plan on that as my next :)

Hi any adepts can sure their strat for Titan Nebula - Haskins System - Planet Capek

I tried for over an hour and can't get pass the infinite mech spot. As a VG I charged, infiltrator cloaked, soldier rushed. But adepts and their paper thin shields get me shredded

New Video Up!

By Request, here are two YMIR fights: The end of Jacob's Loyalty Mission and the end of Garrus' Loyalty Mission

YMIR Fights

Very nice, especially since your strategy can be easily applied to the other classes.

I loved my infiltrator playthrough on the platforms with two YMIRVs.  I blew away the shields and armor by hiding behind boxes up high where they could get to me, then I hacked one to blow away the second one.  It was probably the most fun I'd had in the game.  :)

My early adept going to the [place with 20 crates and 3 ymrvs sucked though... couldn't blow through shields and armor fast enough.   Eventually I got down to the last one and played hide and seek by myself dancing around the shuttle.  It's a good thing it's indestructible.  :)

Advance slowly, but at the last 2 waves before the staircases, use singularity to hold them in place and use AI hack or drone if your teammate has one.
Don't try to kill them since it will just spawn more - you just want to delay them long enough to advance further.

After that, run as fast as possible to the door.

Reaper IFF:
Part 1 / Build, Squad, Basic Tactics, Husks

I'm taking samara and thane for throws, and the occasional area reave. If
your really having trouble with this section, you may want to respec to
get area instead of heavy throw and take bastion for the extra health
and longer singularities. Part 2, and MY NEW GUIDE, will be coming later today.

  Reaper IFF:

Part 2 / No where to run

In this section I'm going to be showing where I like to place my singularity traps, and how to deal with scions at close range with no or little cover.

Part 3 of the Reaper IFF is up:

Part 3 / Before the Core

This section, while it has more scions and husks than every before, also has plenty of opportunity to back up and send out your squadmates ahead of you. I use some tactical revivals, and the often unused added bonus of fully upgraded medigel (aka a free instant health and shield restore should an ally be revived at the same time).

I actually thought playing and Adept on insanity was very easy, I found a very helpful glitch that can get them stuck in there tracks and I just warp them till they die. And if you cant use the glitch singularity stops most guys in there track like harbingers so you can shoot them, and just throw a new singularity.

  The Reaper IFF is Finished:

Part 4 / The Core

My best strategy is to stay on one side of the map, but keep my allies on the middle walkway. That gives me an open area to run around husks, while also causing them to be distracted by my allies. Also, fire from the hip at the core, no need to slow down to aim.

Also, coming later tonight, all four parts of the end run done live! Thats right; I recorded the final mission in its entirety, no deaths and no edits, live. You don't even want to know how many tries it took. <_<

  The Suicide Mission (Done LIVE):
Part 1 / Protecting the Tech

100% Live! I'd have to say that this is absolutely the most challenging thing I have ever attempted in Mass Effect 2. Its one thing beating the game on insanity. Its quite another to have a conversation while doing it and not die for 30+ minutes straight.

I will be updating this throughout the night as soon as the next section reaches acceptable processing. Enjoy

If you want more videos like this, I can definitely do more live stuff. I also want to note that my vocal audio is a little louder than usual, simply because I was more energetic commenting right then and there.

Part 2 / Biotic Bubble, Stop the Husks

This is the toughest part of the final mission in my mind. You'll see how I get through it. Harbinger is starting to get a bit more desperate. Remember to put your squad out in front.
