Advanced Biotic Combos
In this section, I'm going to be using Shepard's pull and throw far more often than usual. No pauses this time, since I'll be talking about my thoughts behind the moves more than just why I chose a certain ability in that particular instance. Bigger picture stuff. Also faster paced gameplay. I also give tips on how to play without pausing, and like the last video, a killer techno-montage segment at the end. Enjoy!

Hey Gatsby, do you have a strategy with the adept for taking down the thresher maw in time (w/o using the cain/nuke) on Grunt's loyalty quest? I took Mordin with me for his incineration, but I lacked the necessary fire power to gun the thing down. I'm already long past this mission, but was just curious.
I'll see what I can do. Not sure if I can do it without heavy weapons, but no way I'd ever use the nuke hehe.

Tried that. particle beam is decent, but runs out way too fast against that thing on insanity. Heavy warp didn't even do any significant damage, but incinerate was ok. If I had more time (say like 2-3 more minutes) I could have taken it down, but I just didn't have enough fire power beyond chipping away at it with my Carnifax.Grumpy Old Wizard wrote...
The particle beam + your warp + incinerate should take it down.

Bioware needs to hire you for their video guides now, imo.
I second this

Hmmmmm. I'm pretty sure I've done it with Mordin. I do the quests in an order that lets me max my biotic power as quickly as possible though.
Today I went through it with Maranda + particle beam. I used heavy warp as soon as it finished cooldown to save ammo. There are also several heavy weapon ammo piles scattered around that you might could grab during the fights, but I don't ever do that. After the particle beam ammo was done I just used the pistol and warp.

You're vids have encouraged me to use an adept for my first insanity run for the achievement. I was going to make an adept anyway so I figured it wouldn't hurt to have some fun and do the insanity on it. Its been very fun so far and it's mainly patience and I haven't been frustrated yet.
Do you have any tips on squadmates? I see you use Zaeed a lot because of the disruptor ammo. I use Miranda for the overload and the squad bonuses, but do those really matter?

On a side note regarding the 360 version and keymapping, Bioware have been kind enough to change the controls on ME2. You get 3 hotkeys for shep abilities and 2 for squad with the ability to quckly remap them on the fly. So the stratergies you go over in your vids can be duplicated on a 360 pad with minimum pausing.

I had unstable warp and Thane had heavy warp, and we killed it by warp spam without heavy weps

I had to reinstall mass effect 2. And now it won't start. Period. It won't activate my ea account, and then when I had to force quit the EA download manager mass effect 2 now just doesn't even start to load. So basically until I can get some help with this, no more videos.
Considering that none of my other threads in the PC tech support thread were even acknowledged, I figured maybe some of you could help me with this prob. It is related to my video guide after all. I'm using the Digital Delux Version from Impulse btw.

I had to go into the ME2 folder after it installed, and manually install the physics x nvida driver and VisualC++ drivers that are in the "redist" folder.
After that I had to start the configration app instead of booting the game directly, set everything again, save settings and then it ran fine.
Before I did that it wouldn´t start or even attempt to start.

It seems like my problem is the EA Download Manager. It won't connect when I try to login. It'll just say "Connecting" for 20 minutes. Its attempting as I type this, and has been attempting since my previous post.

Lets hope it just a problem with the EA service it self, and temporary at that.
The EA site and everything connected to it seems to crap out at random intervals, like about every other online connected thing they are part of.
Plus, steambackup is RAD! yes I said it.... RAD *puts on his black plastic shades, turns up the volume on the Miami Vice theme music and walks off*

Your right. Looks like their server is down. Lulz. Looks like I'll just have to troll around here until something changes.

Also a small announcement: I'm going to be closing my guide poll on Friday 12:00am. I'll have something cool by then for the winners and the losers.
