Man, I remember starting my Adept insanity run a while back, and I just got Warp maxed out early on and it was no fun at all.  Ended up abandoning the run soon after recruiting Jack.

So I started a new playthrough after seeing the topics here about Singularity, and good god, so much more fun!  I'm running Garrus w/ Area Overload and Miranda w/ Area Overload, and me with Wide Singularity and Heavy Warp, and Singularity is absolutely insane.  Stops almost every enemy, shielded or armored, and holds them until their defenses are gone, at which point they get pulled up into the air ripe for a Heavy Warp explosion.  So awesome.  The cooldown is so fast that it's never really a concern, either.

I'm running Armor Piercing Ammo for my bonus skill as well.  It's been working out, since almost every cooldown goes into singularity or the occasional warp, anyways.  I think I cast about two or three singularities to every warp I toss--fun stuff.

Yeah well apparently it took everyone a week to read the various people on the forum telling them that they could use singularity to disable protected enemies.

Main debate with adept ought to be bonus power and maybe how to make shockwave and push useful, not whether they suck or not.

I had a stupid amount of fun on insanity trapping people in Singularity and watching them fly off into the distance, flopping around.

I've had a few mishaps on adept insanity while using singularity, mostly flinging people over and behind me, which they then proceed to flank me.

I don't know why people complain about this class, it's a way more powerful class than vanguard.

Its still a little boring though, only using singularity and warp.

Odd how quick people say something is worthless without investigating it.  Same thing happened with Vanguards.  I think the Engineer Revolution is due soon too.

What exactly makes spamming singularity more fun than spamming warp? For me the adept is fun when I can go all biotics and forget about my gun (mostly) combining skills like lift and push or singularity and warp. Spamming singularity and shooting down armor or shields is still not even close to the idea of the adept class I have in my mind and the way you can use your skills on normal diffuculty.

I have no idea how people read "Throw, Shockwave, and Pull are useless!" as "Adepts are useless!"

To each their own. My Singularities are usually combined with an Inceration Blast or Area Overload, or some SMG/AR Fire, and a Warp explosion. I find this lots of fun... trapping multiple enemies, wittling away their defenses with gunfire and my squad's powers, then finishing them off with a spectacular detonation. Of course, with AR's and SMG's spec'd, I can do my fair shar of gun fighting as well. It's a fun class.

in the begining, I didn't think much of throw, but it does have it's uses. being more spammable than warp, throw can keep several unsheilded enemies down and away from you, singularity has the problem that you can only have one singularity on the battlefield at a time. Warp doesn't stop unsheilded enemies from approaching you.

Shockwave I found effective against hordes of husks.

Lift I rarely use, but if I don't want to remove my current singularity, lift is a good alternitive for suspending enemies.

as a bonus power, I think armor piercing ammo is quite good since adepts have no ammo powers

I'm thinking about evolving Throw into Throw Field so I can combine singularity with Throw Field. Ah the fun

If you actually read most of that stuff, you'd realise that's not the problem. It's the fact that most of their powers are unused. As the OP says, he just uses singularity and warp. Nothing else needs to be used, most powers are pointless to use due to shields/armour.

I find even shockwave has its uses. It can effect enemies with protection, it forces them to rebalance themselves, making them step from cover for a second. That can be enough for a well timed sniper attack.

Pull and Throw.. well the two of them are just "fun"... useless on higher difficulties but otherwise fun. Like pulling enemies into an existing singularity.. or using pull and then throw, having them float to you and then tossed against the next wall even harder, because they are weightless. Or blowing up your Singularity with a Warp effect to detonate stuff around them. (I'll admit its not as useful on the higher difficulties as it is on normal)

A lot of biotic powers of the adept do have a sweet synergy to them (i mean there isn't an achievement for that without reason)

Anyway... i still think its funny. I mean i didn't have problems with my Adept and coming here before the weekend and reading how Adepts are useless and gimped and how they are underpowered i was kind of thinking oO(I was doing something wrong)...

And now its kind of turned 180... and now they are overpowered (well lets not talk about how anything could be overpowered in a singleplayer game)

@Adepts more powerful as Vanguards

I damn well hope so. Vanguards are Hybrids between Soldier and Adept. I damn well expect an Adept to be more powerful than a Vanguard.

All biotics stagger enemies, regardless of protection. Every single one.
