I do believe...most of the squadies whom are exposed to vacuum/space are biotics...(Miranda, Jack, samara/morith)...

Maybe its their biotics that makes space suits unnecessary...Maybe they can use their biotics and create their own protection against vacuum/space

Looks like I need to post this again:

I love how people try to pull the "lol, why ask for realism in a game with aliens and FTL travel?" line.  Is it so much to ask that the universe make sense within itself?  Shepard and mercenaries see fit to wear armor to protect themselves, but NPCs with no protective abilities that Shepard and the mercs lack are more than happy to fight with nothing but tattoos or pajamas to augment their kinetic barriers.  Oh yes, and these people have no lower survivability than the armored people so the armor is clearly useless.  But mercenaries pay money for it, so it can't be useless.

And don't even try the "Shepard wears armor for the bonuses only" bit: stuff like the off-hand ammo pack and heavy ordnance packs still leave Shepard's arms and legs armored even though the only bonus is to ammo carried.  The armor is, in-universe, first and foremost protective.

I still wish that there would be a "appearance pack 2" with a lot more realistic and "armorlike" gear for the companions to wear! (sigh)

As for the argument "this is a computer game" - It's called "Suspension of Disbelief". It's what makes you accept that Neo can run on walls and dodge bullets in the Matrix, even though you know in real life that is not possible. But it only goes so far, and when you can't suspend your disbelief any further, you just wonder what the heck the people behind this were thinking. And this is one of those situations. This is a SciFi game! Some science is necessary!

It is one thing to suspend your disbelief.

It is another thing entirely to hang it by the neck until dead.

Holy Thread Necromancy, Batman! This topic is almost as old as this meme.

Anyway, AAP1 was step in the right direction.

Sorry, this is indeed a step back considering that ME1 gave due consideration to hostile environments and stuff. In fact I was very surprised that a computer game had such high amount of realism. Seeing Jack running around with that chest strap and a face mask while a meter away lies the cold deep of space makes it impossible for me to suspend my disbelief at all.

Please for god's sake, give people like Jack & Miranda some proper protection in hostile combat environments.

Much better than the original fish eyes, imo.

Why do you think space is cold? ;)

Flying cars are realistic. Just expensive, and impractical.

Breathing and walking around in exposed vacuum....not so much.

Dummy.

Makes you wish they had stuff like implants and genetic modifications in the future...

If so than why does my sheperd(Both Male and Female) have to wear all this armor despite being a Biotic while Miranda and Jack get to run around in space with just a tight suit. Even than it doesn't even cover everything! Heck, Ashley wore practical armor in the first game and she was a love interest! These two are just there for sex appeal and it seems that Bioware just wants to sell more copies to children and perverts.
