I have not logged into Cerberus for a while and could access my DLC offline since installing the game and DLC for the first time on 2010/02/29.  I then logged in today for the first time since, to download the Cerberus Armour DLC. I installed it, and played for a while still logged into Cerberus.

I then quit, went offline(we have internet cap limits in South Africa) and tried to go back in to ME2, but right after cancelling the login to Cerberus I was greeted with a message "Unable to verify the following DLC". I  then proceeded to log back into Cerberus to 'verify" the DLC, but after going offline again I was again greeted by the very frustating "Unable to verify the following DLC".

After a lot of trouble shooting I realised the culprit is the 'BioPersistentEntitlementCache.ini' located in the located under Users\\*User Profile*\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2\\BIOGame\\Config folder. As soon as this file updates by logging in to Cerberus, I am no longer allowed to play the DLC offline. If I replace it with one from my previous backed up saves, I am allowed to play offline, even the new Cerberus Armour DLC.

Is this a policy change that was quitly sneaked through by EA/Bioware whereby you are only allowed to play the DLC whilst online? or a just a bug?

I can replicate the bug or 'Enhanced gameplay feature'  everytime, just by logging in to Cerberus.

PS if the bug is that I am allowed to play the DLC whilst NOT logged into Cerberus, then forget I said anything

I can't seem to get your workaround working. I am at the main menu, where you can resume the game. I copy in an old "working" copy of the ini. I am still unable to resume or load my old save game.

The game cannot be running when you replace the file.

If you don't have an old version of the file, are you buggered?

What Offkron said :) You have to do it before going into the game.

Yip, unfortunatley.  But you might be abe to get it working with this solution. Haven't tried it myself though.

Same problem here.

Need to be online+"connected to cerberus" to access my savegames.

I usually do this:

- let the game connect to cerberus
- "resume" game play
- alt-tab out of the game
- shut down internet connection
- play for x hours ;)

Apparently there´s only one check after starting the game, i.e. during gameplay i can access other / older savegames without being online/connected to cerberus.

So... no fix, but minimal hassle.  I check for new DLC pre-gaming anyway. Yes, I´m addicted... :o

Edit: Works as long as you stay away from the main menu.... if you go there, the game will once more try to connect with Cerberus.

Hi all,

I'have the same problem. :o

I'can't play with DLC without internet.

(I'have the collector edition)

I'think that's a DRM.

(Sorry for my English)
