( considering the last thread )
You misunderstood me, I wanted to say that I dont know if it is possible to download savegames for the xbox. I agree that it is not an ideal idea for those that dont have their own savegame, but it would be a compromise for those that cannot deal with a male npc hitting on their male toon.
Personally I dont care if the m/m option is Kaidan, Hendel, Conrad or a new npc from an "asexual " race that looks and sounds male aslong as long as it exists.

SOME people have stated that Mass Effect 2 has no male/male romance option because Commander Shepard is a pre-defined character who "is who he is, or she is. But it's not a wide-open choice matrix. It's more choice on a tactical level with a pre-defined character."
However, that statement contradicts what Casey Hudson stated about Shepard back in 2007:
"Commander Shepard can be designed and created however you want, thanks to a very detailed character customization system. Between the development of your character's abilities and the customization of your equipment, vehicles and even other members of your squad, you will have a ton of opportunity to customize your game experience. Mass Effect starts with a deep character customization system, allowing you to choose Commander Shepard as you've seen him before or to create your own Commander Shepard. Your character can be male or female, and you will have an extreme level of detail in creating your character's appearance. You can choose a character class to get you started in defining your starting set of abilities, and you can even choose your back-story so that you can define what your life has been like leading up to the start of the game."

Is it too late to have a title change to Same-Sex Romances to actually incorporate the "romance" part of what we're fighting for?
Its too late to incorperate a male same sexx romance in general. Were going onto Mass Effect 3, if the previous two games didn't establish male Shepherd as gay, introducing it in the third one would be nonsensical.
It is a obviously a design decision (for whatever reason, likely mass appeal, or as Stanley Woo likes to put it, a "purely artistic decision") that they failed to incorperate it in the last two games. In both, homosexual romance dialogues was recorded, and in both, the dialogue did not make it into the final product. That factor, on top of the fact that were going onto Mass Effect 3, make the inclusion of homosexual romances a near impossibility.
That being said, I fully endorse same sex romances inclusion, though I only particularily care about a lesbian one

I am a married heterosexual male, and I fully support the community when they call for the option of same sex romances. I think it would be a very smart move both politically and emotionally for Bioware to make this change.

Really speaking, the only things about Shepard that are rigidly defined are backstory and occupation. Personality and major choices are all made by the player - sexuality can and should fall into this category too.
It did, in fact, in ME1, at least for "Jane" Shepard. You really can't say that Liara was not a lesbian romance - she was. You can be cute and explain her away as "monogendered so she's not a woman durr" but that's bunk. The established lore of the series' codex even describes Asari as female. Not to mention, if it walks like a blank, and talks like a blank..., etc.
The precedent has been set, with female Shepard in the first game and even to some extent with male romances in Dragon Age . Not including the option for male characters in the first game is a little lame, but excusable given the scope of the series now. But there's no reason not to include it in ME2. It would take away nothing from anyone's experience, but it would add so much.

Yeah, that never really made sense to me. Bioware stated that John Shepard is a pre-defined character even. It's not YOUR character, you're just playing as him they said. Well then why do we get to customize Shepard's gender, background information, looks, how he/she says says something, who or if you romance (to an extent), as well as whether Shepard is a Paragon or a Renegade. I think it was just something Bioware stated to get out of a iffy situation as it seemed rather contradictory as to what I felt like when I played the game. It seems like the only time Bioware's latest statement actually applies to is when it comes to his sexuality. I don't really care about what happens, but Bioware, you obviously have a fanbase that would like some more choices. It doesn't really make sense to alienate these people.
I just wonder if Bioware is actually listening or humoring the people that want this by just keeping the thread open.
