But seriously you guys, I know you think you have all this support and stuff, but you've got like barely 300 people, and only 20 or so active posters. The argument that "it isn't specifically stated the Sheperd isn't Bi/Straight" is so paper thin, when you look at the context, I mean it's actually possible to romance women, but not men. The fact that for 2 games the option ust hasn't been present means that Bioware will in all liklihood continue as they are for the 3rd game.
The last thread ended on a good note though with the for/against arguments clearly presented, after much trolling however

To include something because it carries political clout is rather wrong tbh. And there will be just as heavy of an adverse politcal reaction as there would be a positive one.

The fact that gay men/gay male romance supporters are an extremely small portion of the playerbase is the biggest argument against the inclusion at this point. I mean why bother to please such a small minority? I don't mean to say that your feelings or views are any less valid but I mean this is only a game afterall, not a civil rights bill.

Don't attempt to troll me. Go read the last 20 pages of the previous thread and you'll see just how measured this discussion has become. It's only because of insults getting thrown around (like your little snipe at my self-esteem level) that the thread devolves into a mudslinging match.

What can I say, out in the world lesbo sex is viewed with less disdain/discomfort than gay mansex. I don't make the rules or the stats fella, that's just the way it is. Oh, and lesbianism is quite hawt At least, the male fantasy is, the real deal...meh, not so much.

Second, Moriarty, it's exclusion is out of place. It makes more sense for it to be in the game than it does to be left out. Nothing is lost, and everything is gained.

Also - tying into my previous post - maybe this is true.  But you're saying it's a good thing?  It's not.  It's a hurtful double standard that fosters sexism.

If Bioware could do something towards helping to dispel this viewpoint, it would be a positive thing.  As of now, it seems like including F/F but not M/M is simply catering to the "I support gay marriage, but only if both chicks are hot" demographic - which is all sorts of creepy.

Why not? Bioware has a history of including f/f and m/m romance options, and they clearly produced a good portion of it for ME1/2 even though it didn't make the final cut. The intention is there, it's only the execution that's lacking for the ME m/m relationship...for whatever reason.

So, why shouldn't they? So far the only 'reasons' against it that I've seen given are 'I wouldn't like it" and "[My] Shepard isn't gay." And frankly, I've seen fewer people with those opinions here than those who are interested in/do not object to inclusion of m/m romance.

It must only seem out of place to gay guys because in all honesty I never even thought about until I came to this forum. I mean without trying to be a ****, men being interested in women is the natural order of things, at least for the vast majority of the world/players. As such I didn't even key on the fact there wasn't a m/m romance. The fact that there's a pseudo-f/f romance present is a moot point. I mean they could hardly write that Asari can mate with any species and any gender in the Codex and then not let you romance her as FemShep when you can as ManShep.

@Light - The request for you to **** off after mentioning civility was meant be sarcastic. Sorry if you didn't read that into it. But seriously, I'm not flaming you so why flame me?

Okay folks, now now. I do understand James' pov, however realistic/negative it happens to be. (I myself tend to take the half empty approach too) He's hardly a bigot or whatever, gonna have to go with him here.



I do think however that for every "Eww no Shepard's not a fruit" person that comes in here, there's 5 more that come in here, quickly say "I support it" and then go away. It doesn't personally affect them but they do support it. Most of us keeping this thread going have personal things to gain from including it but that hardly makes it a minority thing. I just wanted to add that.



Let's do keep it civil though, I rather do enjoy a mature discussion as opposed to mud slinging.

It shouldn't be included. Same sex male romance would be gross for too many people. Just because a minority wants it, doesn't mean Bio should dedicated their time and resources implementing it.
