Which I'm inclined to believe if only because i'm a naive optimist and don't want to beleive BioWare would lie to the fans at every turn. We know from the modded game that those two romances would have required a second set of steamy-scene animations.

So it is a mystery why it was not included in ME1.

I actually feel like, were Bioware to alter an existing character to be gay/bi, Garrus would be an excellent choice. His Femshep romance makes it clear that he's in the romance because of who you are as a person, building a relationship off friendship, trust and respect. Those qualities can easily be transferred to a M/M relationship, especially taking into account the gender neutral interactions Garrus has with Shepard.

I personally would prefer they leave the current characters as they are, but this is just a thought I posted in the previous thread as a possibility.

Yeah it was used as an excuse to not have m/m romance in ME1.  It's posted by one of the devs in the old forum.  Like what you just said, it's why we are not going to buy it if the same excuse is used again.

It's not my problem that you can't take the existing characters for who they are, all I have to do is start up my game but you have to go hunting for cut content and watching it on Youtube...which is sad as **** btw.

I'd like Same-Sex romances as long as it's with a new character or a character with an unestablished/undetermined sexuality. Turning Ashley, Kaiden, etc. etc. gay would kind of ruin their characters since they have already been in straight romances.

But, you see they may have not been in any romances. If I choose not to have any than you cannot say that as a fact as the player is who allows the romance to happen in game.

I don't know about the Kaiden in your game, but the one in mine had a crush on one girl when they were kids under pressure at BATT, and has had no other relationships mentioned since. I don't consider that a 'straight romance.'

Some characters like Jack or Garrus could very easily be bisexual (Jack mentions as much). The lines are worded so that it's very easy to see them that way in ME3 if Bioware wanted it. It's out of character for some, but not all.

As one of the gay male gamers I can safely say I don't feel cheated at all. I would have loved an option, sure, but in the end I'm just happy enough they include relationships at all. And relationships like Garrus, interspecies! Now that takes some guts, and I love them for it.

That's true, but I think because we are on the last game of Shepard's story, changing existing characters sexuality this late might be, I don't know, unwanted perhaps. Trust me, I'd like Kaiden as much as the next (gay) guy.

Why does the thought of someone else thinking of Kaiden as gay or bi disturb you so much? Heck, why does the thought of someone considering MaleShep gay or bi disturb you? They're not commenting on the characters in your game...they're commenting on the ones in theirs.

It isn't the thought, its the active lobbying to get Bioware to change them. This thread should be about options, not idle fantasies of gay men.

I actually thought about it, a black woman as LI.  They have had 3 white women as LIs in ME1 and ME2 so I think there might be a possiblity of having a black woman as LI in ME3.

No need to get defensive.  I said your position is reasonable....    I guess we've just seen too many cases of true sexuality revealing itself later in life...  Sometimes there's more to a person than meets the eye, that's all....

I think Kaiden is a raging ******. Like, gayer than Elton John's handbag. Like, dancing to some Kander and Ebb gay. More closetted than Anderson Cooper. I actually have a hard time taking him seriously in game. The fact that he talks about his relationship with a woman is the only reason I see him straight....errr, bi.
