For once though, I'm glad EA exist. Pandering to every minority who ever requested anything is just a silly idea.

I don't understand you, James. You say that you are not necessarily opposed to what we're asking for, and at least seem like a reasonable fellow, yet a large part of your posts are just dripping with disdain at the mere existance of such a discussion. Honestly, like I said earlier, if we only have two options (sitting idly by while getting nothing accomplished, or voicing our opinions while getting nothing accomplished), I prefer to voice my opinion.

I suppose it's because I see the world changing every day, bending to liberal ideals and trying desperately to keep every minority under the sun happy with everything, and while it's a noble goal the feelings and desires of the masses just seem to get lost in the storm.
Also the vain hope you guys desperately cling to just kinda irritates me. I mean there is nothing to even remotely suggest the inclusion of such a thing in the final Mass Effect, and this is backed up by 2 games of non-inclusion and an interview with the head-honcho of BW.
Consider this, if all the content was created and everything was good to rock, why wouldn't they include it? Twice?

Yeah, i heard they let woman vote in some countries already... it's a shame...

That's a very good question.  One none of us have the answer to.  Most of us are giving Bioware the benefit of the doubt that it wasn't some kind of censorship.

The only answer I can think of is that the head guys at BW of Ea just vetoed it and said no. So basically to include the option for ME3 would be to invalidate their previous decisions. And if I know anything about people in high places, they don't like to be told their **** was wrong.

I'm not. Especially not if you look at their "new" sex scenes. <_< Self-censorship is among one of the worst kinds.

Yeah cos women were a real minority group, hell only 5% of people on the planet were women. What is this? Tuchanka?

Black people, too!  They let black people vote in America now, and they are only 12 percent of the population!  Can you believe it.  Damn pandering liberals.

The point is that being black isn't a genetic abberation like being gay.

But obviously they only got the right to vote because the majority voted to allow it....

Yeah, but i would call it a genetic blessing rather than abberation. Also, this is stepping over the line, my friend.

I understand where you are going with this but incorrect game lore is incorrect. The Genophage does not limit the amount of females born. It only limites the number of females capable of producing offspring. Though females shown in game are limited there is nothing to indicate they are any less common than female Turians. Just not shown in vast numbers within the game.

THANKYOU for saying this. Now I WILL NEVER be on your side and consider all arguments you have as completely illogical, because you think this. Now I know why you said the things you did. ****

<snip>Beregar: Haha. That is awesome. I do not know I actually thought Thane was alright. As for his religion. It was not any religion like those we practice. It was the ancestral religion of the Drell. Not knowing their stance on homosexuality if it is even an issue to begin with his being religious did not bother me in the least. I do agree being able to romance Kaidan would have been nice. However it did not make it to release. Que Sera, Sera I suppose. Jacob seemed like a likely option as well for a good while. Garrus I do like and agree would be a viable option. I do not much have an opinion on Grunt or Wrex. I adored Alistair and Carth so much. I really need to replay KOTOR again. It is one of my favourite games after all. </snip>

I know his religion is not any religion we practice, and I'm not opposed to religions. I have the very (liberal?) belief that we all should be allowed to belief in whatever we wish for as long as it does no harm to anyone else. I just didn't like the character, there was something unsettling about him, and his views on the world. I think the way how he escapes responsibility had something to do with it (the way how he backs his "I just followed orders" excuse with religion).

He also falls into category of scifi counterparts to elves which is not my thing - a bit like Asari do. In fact if they slapped a blue skin on him I could imagine him being the "male Asari". Strangely enough I liked Samara even if they both had similar "codes" that permitted them to kill and blame something else for it. Actually they are very similar characters in many ways.

I prefer goofy, or tough rough'n'tumble characters over the lithe emo killers which is why Garrus has major appeal even if he is an alien - I expect sparks and attitude without the other guy being a ******. Little emo doesn't hurt to show they have sensitive sides but too much is too much. Both in real life and in game characters. Some characters seem to be able to strike perfect balance though - like Alistair, Kaidan and Carth. Jacob is close there too. In DA I hated Zevran because he went seriously over the board. He was simply cheap, there was no depth to his character, and no redeeming qualities (plus I hate poetry :D)

And I really hate that when I take the bus it has that option to kneel so that the elderly and handicapped can navigate the stairs. Man, it takes up so much time. I mean, how many people in a wheelchair take the bus, anyway?

It also pisses me off that parking lots have to have handicapped parking spaces, and that they reserved field level box seats in Yankee Stadium for the wheelchair-bound patrons. All 10 of them.

Why do you keep citing this as some sort of reason for people to stop trying?  When has anything bad ever come from challenging these hypothetical people in high places?  If no one ever challenged the tyranny of the majority (and you should really, really read that link, because it directly addresses a point that you reiterate a lot), no one would ever get anything done.

We know Bioware made a decision to exlude gay romance.  We know they made this choice.  So what?  We want them to change their choice.  That's the whole ****ing point.

A blessing you say? Riiiigghht. Cos it's good for the perpetuation of the species right? Being gay is a genetic anomaly. That's hard science. Therefore, it's an abberation as it's hardly a useful trait from a species standpoint. Everyone is gay = no more reproduction instinct.

Uh huh.  That's nice.  It was only a few decades ago that a lot of people would have disagreed with you.  They might not have said genetic abberation.  They would have said sub-human, or less intelligent, or whatever.  Same thing.

I hope you remember how you felt and what you said when the world has passed you by, the same way those elderly who have seen the light now know they were wrong to think such horrible things about people of different races back when they were younger.

Genetic abberation.  That's a pretty bad one with no scientific grounds on which to stand.  But ok.

There was a time when it was thought to be so. There are places and groups that still shout such things. Perhaps you are related to some of their membership?

Honestly how many people are really handicapped riding on the bus anyways? Why waste those seats.

(And It takes FOREVER for the bloody bus to accomidate 1 handicap person, why on earth do we all waste our time so one person in a wheelchair can get on the bus?)

Also: There's nothing wrong with being different! :crying:

While it would not be a good idea for -everyone- to be gay, there is some scientific evidence to support it being a good thing for -some people- to be gay.

With a world that will be facing massive overpopulation relatively soon, I wouldn't be so quick to use that argument against homosexuality. Besides, a person has about as much choice about being born gay as he would have being born black, I'm sure they'd love the title genetic aberration.

You guys are clearly taking "abberation" to mean "immoral". All it means is that it simply isn't the normal genetic configuration.
