The writers originally designed a few of the characters as bisexual. Voices were recorded and scenes were animated. It was cut out near the final stages of the game. However left on the disks for players and modders to reenable. I do not think they were put off but rather they had to disable it because of outside pressure. This is in both games by the way.

Ah yes, I remember that talk about Alistair and Morrigan getting that dialogue in DA, as well. However I believe a moderator left some comments (I couldn't link this to you because I don't know of the posts) about how just because the dialogue was written in and voiced for modders to reenable, didn't mean that they intended for that character to be a bisexual option in the actual game (like, canon-wise, for lack of a better term).

There's no dialogue for Alistair specifically for a male Warden in a romance.



DO you remember what the files are called because I don't think that's true. There's a Alistair x Male Warden version of the sex scene but otherwise...

Let me guess, as soon as someone makes a post which disagrees with your opinion and social agenda, like a true gutless progressive, you are going to run away and have a sulk. i think - if you play a pre designed character as you do - and in this case i think its good cause it makes the story more believable and "alive" - and if this character is simply not gay, then there should also be no gay option...pretty simple - BUT then there also shouldnt be an option to play as female...

In a previous post, somebody quoted one of the devs saying in an interview that Shepard could be anything the player wanted. Including customizing his face, such as we can. This leads me to believe that the character, as per this being a single-player RPG, is meant to be open to the player.

However, on the issue of sexuality, it is not. I'd not expect a totally open bisexual orgy or anything, but one little option (even if it had to be buried in a long dialogue chain with various opt-out choices, like in Dragons Age), would be nice.

It's a bit same towards anything that is "weird" to them be it religion, immigrants or gays. I think they have some troubles adjusting to "modern" world. Then again it seems a lot people have hard time adjusting to "modern" world - even so called "modern" people. <_<

I also share the interest about knowing NPCs and their backgrounds without wanting to sound like a jerk - even if they are in game characters. I mean it's pretty easy to figure out signs of someone being interested in you in real life and turn down them gently, actually slightly adjusting your behaviour so that it doesn't even come down to that. I can think only one time in my life where I had to outright tell someone I'm not interested in them. After that I learned to do a bit more "preventive damage control" if the signs were there.

Sadly I think there's some truth to the NPC reactions. If you are willing to listen someone, be nice to them, and learn about their life, troubles and everything, it seems they eventually start showing interest in you. Sometimes even if they are in a relationship.

Keeping threads active here on the forums was a large part of making it clear to BioWare what was important to fans between ME1 and ME2.  If the fans don't raise their voices, BioWare doesn't know what we want.  

Just as an example from the previous forums--the Garrus and Tali fans.  BioWare was surprised at the positive fan reaction to these two characters, especially at the desire to have them as romance interests.  We raised a lot of hell on the old forums, made it very, very clear how much we cared about the characters, and got what we wanted for ME2.  Same thing with the ammo system, or the Mako, or any other requests for ME2.  The way to get things done around here is to bring them to BioWare's attention.  For better or for worse, that means threads in the forums about those topics.  The fans who want same-sex romance have as much of a right to post, bump, and promote their cause as, say, the Garrus fans.  Or the Tali fans.  Or insert-fan-demographic here

Do you feel the same way about my black "Shepard" kissing Miranda, who is white? The notion of a gay romance does not bother me in any way.  Gay people are a pillar of our civilization and it's something that you need to get use to.  They should have the option.

Now, I just want to know where I can get some fried chicken and watermelon. Those deep space scanning missions are rough on a brotha!

Lets try and silence all suggestions people would like to see in this game and/or ME3, I mean forums users in general are a very small minority of the actual player base, so no-one really cares about what people here think, right?

Yeah, it's the same with other LI's. They keep building up tension and then nothing happens. I always play femShep because it's just awesome to have a cute girl beating up the galaxy ^^. The head butt with the Krogan was beyond awesome

Anyway... Tali is a lovely crew mate that's why i'd want to have my captain to relate with her. There are so sweet lines coming from both Tali and femShep, it's unlike anything i've ever seen in a game.



If i play maleShep i'd like to hit on Garrus. He's got reach...

Jokes aside, being openly gay I would fully support and M/M relationship in ME3 but at this point, it might just feel tacted on. Shepard has already been established as a straight guy so unless it took some route you'd expect to find in a fanfic along the lines of either Shepard being a huge closet case or some new crew member saying something along the lines of "So, you've never even thought about being with a guy?" which would feel a little tired and cliché IMHO. If they did do it it would have to be done very well so it's probably best to keep the metaphorical can of worms well sealed.

I wouldn't say he's been established as straight, the poor guy just hasn't has anyone to hit on
