In all honesty, PLEASE read the story of the blind men and the elephant. We see what we wish to see in our minds. I have seen Kaiden flirt with my Mshep in ME1. I saw Tali as interested in my Fshep. Does that mean that someone else has? Not necessarily.

(Also, Jimmy, i love you for this:

I think part of the retconning vs. adding debate comes down to personal interpretation of what constistutes an "established story".

My brain has been preprogrammed by comics to acknowledge multiple realities. For me every playthrough is a different version of Shepard's story. My first playthrough Shepard didn't meet Zaeed until halfway through his mission because that's when I got around to DLing him. In my second playthrough he was the first person who got recruited because he was waiting for me on Omega. I don't see this as a change to the story of my first playthrough, I see it as a different version of the story. I intend to do a number of things differently this time around, to me that changes nothing about how it was done the first time. That story will always be that story, anything new will be another story entirely.

I think I am already bored of my new troll persona. All the points are automatically poorly constructed and too easy to refute. There is just no fun in that. :c

Ah, too bad, that could have been quite entertaining. There's a french-speaking thread on this forum made just for trolling where I have read some of the best bouts of agressive witticism in a very, very long time. Sophism at its pinnacle, truly. Then again, this isn't the purpose of this thread, I guess,

Haha. I may pick it up later. It is just far too late for such things today. The only trouble is while I do enjoy such things arguing against something I consider so important kind of makes me feel dirty all over.

I don't think there is a need for fake trolling here anyway. It is not like there wasn't enough of that beforehand.

That is a very good point. If only one of them were here at the moment. Things are far too slow.

Maybe they went to sleep? As I should, I am supposed to get up for work in a few hours after all :)

Okay good night then, I'm looking forward to the ten or so new pages that will undoubtly appear during the day.

How many pages does the Gay Romance topic usually get to until it's deleted? Also why is it deleted?

There are a few reasons they give for deleting the threads; they either get off topic, trolled to the point of no return, spammed to the point of no return or turn into flame wars between both sides.

The most recent one, however, was closed due to length, but I don't remember how far it got. I want to say 103 pages, but I may be thinking of something else.

Ah, thank you.

Length?  Doesn't seem to be a problem with that Tali thread that is in the hundreds (700 something right?).  But i'm glad this thread keeps resurfacing, the devs might just do something about it. <3

Let me start by saying I am very liberal and support gay rights, gay marriage etc...

One of the main problems with having a gay Shepard is that the people you romance also have to be gay. In a squad of ~12 people, having at least 3 gay people (one option for girls, one for guys and of course Shepard) is a statistical anomaly. With only one romance option it would seem awfully convenient that you have a sexual attraction to the only gay squad member on the ship. Having more than one option would make the Normandy the gayest ship in the galaxy. It also reduces the potential of straight romance options and is a large amount of content that will go largely unused. You could also argue that Shepard is simply not a gay character. Not having a gay option is not discrimination.

It already is a statistical anomaly. You have Kelly, Morinth, Samara and Liara as romance options for female shep but NO romance for a male shep.

Jack has also admitted to having a female love interest before so your argument is moot.

You really must know lesbians are far more common than gay males. Just read an article in most heterosexual men's magazines and you will learn of men having sex with multiple women at once. This obviously means women are far more inclined to homosexuality or bisexuality as the case may be. A five to zero ratio does not seem too unlikely given these breakthrough studies.

No problem!

The whole Tali thing is not for lack of trying on their part. If I recall correctly, that is the second iteration of their thread, with the first having been clased around the 300 page mark. The current thread was started after the other was closed, and was back to 100 pages within a day. I think it's just growing to fast for the mods to keep up with.

You are correct.   It is very strange that a 123 page thread would be closed due to length, while a 700+ page thread remains active.  Very stange indeed, BioWare.

Well, Stanley Woo was very nice about closing it. I think it was due to the fact that it was nearly impossible for the mods to keep up with it. I have nothing against it, as he clearly stated to start up a new one. I think after that magnificent article went up (wonder who helped that one along?) the mods have been much more understanding of us.

Morinth, Samara and Liara are all Asari and I would hardly call Samara a "romance option".

Females being Bisexual is far more common than males being gay (and studies show men being bisexual is bullsh*t). Also factor in that the military would attract far more lesbians than gay men (percentage wise) simply due to the increase of a testosterone mentality.

It would also be stupid if Shepard suddenly could be gay in ME3 after being straight in the previous two games.

Sabul, I'm really interested to read these studies....becuase I don't think they're entirely true. Straight women who make out or have sex with other women in an attempt to please men may occur more visibly, but I would hardly call them bisexual/lesbian. There's a lot of literature to suggest they do it to please men, and do not actually enjoy it themselves. Although not as visible, there's just as many, if not more men seeking male/male "intimacy." Don't beleive me? Check out craigslist ;).

Also, I don't know if that post was meant to be sarcastic. If so, just ignore me :)

So the fact that I myself have loved both men and women is bull**t? I always have and I always will. I guess I must just not be real....
