Not to mention Dragon Age outsold Mass Effect in it's first 13 weeks. That is with a bisexual characters. It does not sound like m/m romances hurt sales but rather help them.
Is that only counting 360 sales? Mass Effect was a 360 exclusive for a while, but Dragon Age was released for PS3 and PC too.

Yes. I was not the one that made the chart quite a few pages back but if I recall correctly it was indeed only 360 sales.TerribleTruth wrote...

ooo thanks for reminding me. Looks like the site has updated it's numbers.
14 weeks now and the difference is getting slimmer as DAO seems to be leveling out.
buuut. Awakenings comes out a month so that could boost it back up.
Sadly the link won't work as a link because it have brackets in it so copy+paste if you want to check it out:
http://www.vgchartz....s Effect - X360[7635]®2=America&game2=Dragon+Age%3A+Origins+-+X360[33505]®3=America&game3=&weeks=20
-edit- gah sorry missed the question there
Yes it is only going by American 360 sales. The site allows you to limit the conditions on the graph so for the sake of accurate comparison I went with American 360 sales for both because:
1: It doesn't say what countries fall under "other" so I don't know if they'd be the same for both
2: as you said, difference in systems.

Again, the whole idea here is to force homosexuality on other people. That's all this isDaeJi wrote...
What is this about the world? We're talking
about a game and players' choice in said game. Adding same sex romances
increases a player's ability to tailor the story to their liking (which
is a big selling point in BioWare games) and would make the game more
fun for many players (a lot more than the gay players and players on
this board). It's BioWare making money for themselves and giving fans
more ways to play; why is that bad?

And this had something to do with biology?AnathamaDye wrote...
I have to disagree with you. Just about 60 years ago it was the "norm" to have segregated bathrooms for blacks and whites.
Except I have not whined anywhere. Try again.Arik7 wrote...
That Ninja, you started "whining" about the
gay lifestyle being forced upon you, and yet you are asking us to shut
up and to conform to your lifestyle. Height of hypocrisy.

Well that just blows my mind. Why would anyone even buy a moddable isometric strategy rpg on a console. And outselling a game about space marines on the 360? I guess their marketing department deserves a pat on the back.
True, I'm certain the difference in marketing strategies helped. I just keep the graph on hand because it shows that a bisexual male character won't crush sales as some people claim it will.

Just like in this ME2. It's not like Miranda suddenly starts humping you unless you give her the green light.

Being black is just as much a part of human biology as being gay. However I am sure you will argue against this.

You know some people can choose to be gay or bi? I don't know if you are aware. You can't choose to be African-American

Oh no...I feel a huge debate comming. You will probably use the "some" to your defense but overall lgbt people don't choose to be who they are, they are born that way. Think about it, why would people choose to be something that get's them made fun of, beaten up, ect. Suicide rates among gay teenagers is high due to bullying, family issures, and such.

Oh, I am fully aware. As a member of more than one minority I am well aware of ones inability to chose membership of any of them. It is asinine to suggest someone would voluntarily choose something just to be ostracised from their society. Where would your documented medical studies of selective sexuality be?Endurance_117 wrote...

So I'm super late to this party, but has anyone brought up the idea of defining Shepherd's sexuality at the customization screen? You define it just like you would class or appearance, so that once the game starts there is no way that you might accidentally start a flirtation that you're uncomfortable with. You wouldn't even have to see any homosexual dialogue options if you defined a heterosexual character, and vice versa.
Yes, but thanks for restating it. Someone needs to make a suggestion bit or something.

I just added a thread to FFTL with the chart link and info and such so we can all have it around without having to dig through the thread here.

I have heard of it and would love an option like this. However people would be offended by even seeing any word other than "Heterosexual".Marta Rio wrote...
