Yah, no.  I don't agree.  As a bisexual female, I'm already forced into that negative light.  I'm greedy; I'm promiscuous; I'm greedy.

We really don't need BW coming in here and see bickering and we don't need ignorant straight people coming in here thinking that all gay people do is **** and bicker with other immature posters.

If someone says they're bi, they're actually lesbian, just sayin.

You have the option to blow people away. You can't claim extreme delicacy. What do you do when you're hit on in real life?

I accept the drink offer provided I am attracted to the fellow trying to chat me up. At least it use to be that way prior to my relationship. I have no issues being hit on by people women included. It seems a lot of Heterosexual gamers do not share the same openness to such things.

Same here Wompoo , though figures are part of it.You can still have the situation not change even though figures might provide proof of change needed to the game.

Sabul: Nah I know not everyone wants everyone to be bisexual, but I know there are people who voice unrealistic things like that. I was making some general statements of the extremes on both sides, so I hope there are no misunderstandings. Both ends of the spectrum will say stupid things. Don't take me too serious just because there have been some trolls here :P Speaking of hoops, I would go through hoops on fire for some of the characters.

Sabul: np. considering Dragon Age I don't think Bioware can be called homophobic in the first place, so that attack would be bunk... And yeah, I probably should have worded it better. I think I'm kind of on the same boat with you arguing against the 'everyone should be bi' thing, but backwards. Eh how to say.. I had to argue with people who think that all characters should be bisexual, as opposed to accusing a demographic for wanting that sort of thing. not sure if that makes sense.. need moar coffee.

aestheticmachine: Not to mention Jade Empire. That broke ground having a m/m romance that was a real character. Not some faceless nameless person. However some people would actually go across that line. None of us have done so however. Well even in the time of Mass Effect I doubt everyone is bisexual. We do not even know how sexuality works for these other alien species. However I cannot imagine heterosexuality or homosexuality no longer existing.

Well I have heard people joke about an Elcor romance. Personally it is just too close to bestiality for my taste. I mean granted the Elcor are intelligent but being on four legs makes me uneasy. The Elcor are however really interesting characters. I just could not see my Shepard having sex with one.

Jimmy Fury: YOU ARE A BAD MAN. and it would work very carefully. and.. wow. the sex scenes would be comedy gold.

Sabul: Agreed, although at least some races were tweaked for some interesting variety and alien thought. Oh man.. I don't agree with the bestiality thing, but my brain hurts every time I try to think of a sexy Elcor. It was a joke, but one that cost me some sanity points. Also your Shepard would just be crushed and that's what's going to be on the tombstone!

Indeed. I am very fond of all the alien species. They are very interesting.
Yeah. I cannot really imagine a sexy elcor either. Is probably my lack of attraction to them.
You are so amusing man.

Haha. Yeah that magazine always did amuse me.
You should. I know it is sold for very little on steam these days. There are many hours of good fun in there. Also most peoples computers can run it anymore. I really enjoy that game.

Sabul: Grabbed it just now, haha. When it first came out I really did want to get into it. Anyway apologies for not articulating myself very well the first time, but glad we cleared up the misunderstandings. I tend to express extreme thoughts of both sides (despite usually sitting somewhere in the middle) and in generalized terms - probably impatience bred from really frustrating debates. Time to play some CoD, peace out and nice meeting you. Shall visit these shenanigans again.

I think you should all go over to the CoD MW 2 forums and demand that they have gay content in their game. I think you should make a thread and harass the developers by continuously spamming posts that have no discussion value. In fact, I think you should make a point of joining every single gaming forum on the internet and demand that they include gay content in their games. You should make a thread on all these forums and constantly spam it with irrelevant posts just to keep it on the first page. Harvey Milk would be so proud of you guys....

I consider storytelling and writing to the be most important, over filling a romance quota. As it so happens, aside from some female characters, all of the characters in Mass Effect are heterosexual. Sexuality isn't exactly a light switch.

So your entire point has been that "don't change existing characters". I.e. simply because some people wish Jack had asian features it would not be a good idea to go back and change her to have those. Basically what you said earlier but some of your later comments got me confused.

Anyhow, storytelling and filling romance quota aren't mutually exclusive. Neither is having different perspectives and paths to same story. Bioware already supports renegade and paragon paths for both male and female Shepard and your choices and gender determine how NPCs  react to you. That's the idea behind "different experience through multiple playthroughs". :wizard:

I suppose the question is more about where it gets to be "game breaking". For me it would be weird if Jack was white in one game, black in another and alien in third while still remaining basically the same character. Yet I'd be okay if for example Samara suddenly turned romanceable in one of the new playthroughs. It just means there was some reason in previous playthroughs she wasn't interested in my character, maybe my character just didn't pick correct lines. Similarly I currently have choice to romance or not romance certain characters. If I choose not to pursue one it doesn't mean I couldn't choose differently in another game. For me it's a bit same for the gay romances if the option was added to ME2/ME3. It may be that my Shepard was hetero (never! :P) in one game and gay in another - ditto with Kaidan (mmm, Kaidan ).

For you this is obviously different. :?

It already is a statistical anomaly. You have Kelly, Morinth, Samara and Liara as romance options for female shep but NO romance for a male shep.

Morinth, Samara and Liara are all Asari and I would hardly call Samara a "romance option".

Females being Bisexual is far more common than males being gay (and studies show men being bisexual is bullsh*t). Also factor in that the military would attract far more lesbians than gay men (percentage wise) simply due to the increase of a testosterone mentality.

It would also be stupid if Shepard suddenly could be gay in ME3 after being straight in the previous two games.

Asari are created to appeal those who like human women. They look much like female of the human species, sound like them and exhibit traits that can be easily identified as feminine. There's very little alien to them - they are comparable to fantasy elves in that regard. Would you be romancing one if "she" sounded like man and looked like one? Even if "she" claimed to be woman.

Also congratulations, yours is the first post so far that made me groan out loud (and not in a good way, mind you). What exactly has "testosterone mentality" to do with lesbians? "Butch" lesbian is a stereotype, so is "effeminate" gays. I'd say most gays are still guys, meaning we look like guys and act* like guys - we just happen to like other men. Similarly I'd say most lesbians look like women and act* like women. Besides you are more likely to have *more* gay men in army than lesbians because men follow military careers more often (and in some countries it's not even possible for women to serve). Doesn't mean they are openly gay, especially in countries where gays can't serve in the army even if women can.

Also my Shepard has never been straight in any of the ME games. He has never had the opportunity to show his gay side. It is a sad thing that the default in future seems to be the DADT policy of Americans. Poor lonely Shepard. :(

*behaviour stereotypes applied here...
