Do you mean both games or just ME2?

I would think just for ME2, it's the current  game

Bioware, why can't i have this?

Make a decent looking FemShep and romance Liara. Granted one of them ends up with tentacles and blue but heck at least you get something. :pinched:

Why Liara? Why is it always Liara?! I'm sick of Liara! <_< FemShep wants to tap someone human who doesn't flip flop on her sex and gender.

Hey just checking. You've seen the people wanting a patch for ME1. Patching ME2 might be feasible.
I haven't played any of the romances in ME2 so I don't know how their animation is, would it require any scenes to be recoded like the Fade-To-Black scene in ME1 that wasn't altered by the gender-flag mod?

Are there any vids of modded ME2 romances out there?

As far as I've seen there is a scence with a bit of talking and then they lean in for a kiss and it fades to black.

I am a bi man and would definitely support a M/M Shep romance. I happen to agree with the idea that either through a "New Romances" DLC or by patch it can be properly integrated into ME2. If not I would not be against a future M/M Kaiden, Garrus, Thane, Jacob even Joker in ME3. F/F Ashley, Tali, Jack, Miranda in FE3 is fine too so long as the M/M option is there as well.

Joker!

He is the only existing crew member with no established romantic past and therefore no acknowledged sexuality.

Wouldn't be anything to retcon...

just an entirely biased thought.

Yeah, a Gay Commander would be comedy gold.

I don't want this & would never exercise the option but so long as the ME keeps it's tradition of letting the player drive the level of sexual interaction ranging from none to whatever (vs. DAO "NPC pushy" style), it's no skin off my nose. Of course, given it's a lot of work to incorporate yet another story/romance path w/all the writing, animations, etc...., & we're at something like a few hundred postings as compared to 2 million+ in sales, I doubt the cost/benefit ratio can be justified business-wise.

In addition to having to cover the expenses of the voice actors to actually get there to record in the first place, and then again for all the different voice actors used in the various languages the game has been released in. It's not as easy as you make it out to be.

Actually I wouldn't mind restoring Kaidan's bisexuality, as it was originally intended but not complete.  But if the fans are against it, then new bi characters should be introduced....

The problem with that is implementation. How would you restore content across two different games? Multiple patches based on how many of the installments you have on your hard drive? If it is just somhething that finally comes to light in the third game, then the main
thrust for having Kaiden as a romance (it carries through all three) is
lost at that point.

I believe someone stated that if
that were case.  Kaidan could come up to you in the 3rd game and say he
thought he'd have time after the fight with the reapers and he just now
got enough courage to speak to Shepard about it, if Shepard brings up
the fact tat he's been admiring from afar or something of the sort.  BW could also go back and implement Kaidan and the others like a few modders before them have done.  They could also have I don't know a questionire at the part where it tells you who your LI is in ME2 when you're importing from ME1 to be a drop box and I don't know something like LI Miranda/Jack/Ashley/No one/etc, Crush Kaidan/Thane?  Except this would be at the beginning of ME3.  Except of course you can't chnage your LI.  You can however choose your crush.

Ha I love that Idea!

I'm glad that last bit made sense.  I wrote it in a hurry.

They already need the voiceactors for any new DLC they plan to make, so thaht would be the least expense, the remaking of the animations (culmination, sit on lap and cuddle in bed ) could depending how the engine works done in a couple of hours (maybe a day or two) the biggest expense would most likely be testing for bugs.

Ofcourse allowing a samesex relationship in ME2 would increase the possible jealousy scenes in ME3 and make them harder to write, to prevent that the samesex option could be only open for Shepards, who romanced either Liara or stayed single in ME1 ( Liara needs to get jealous at men and women anyway )

in the first game it seemed like you could openly choose to be a lesbian though it was restricted to only one character in the second game the lesbian option was completley removed. at least it seemed that way. so 1 if in me 1 you can be a lesbian why cant you be gay. and if it was okay to be a lesbian in ME 1 why cant you be in ME 2. ME 2 need to incorparate Gay strait and bisexual romance to stay consitent with ME 1. bioware just decided that upholding there artistic integrity wasn worth the bad press

You don't think they already recorded all of the dialogue they needed for the DLC in advance? Of course that may not be the case, but if I had to guess they've probably had all of their plans for DLC laid out for quite some time.

Arent you supposed to be like 4%? :P

No seriously, I wouldnt mind them, its your problem where you want to stick it. But I totally hate the idea of gay Joker, Thane ...

So if you make those, either make it a DLC or add a switch in options where you actually switch between real-4%-world and 100%-bi-world.

Even in that (unlikely) case, I am sure that the contacts with the various voiceactors contains a recall clause in case that a patch or DLC needs to be changed . And I think reading in the DA forums that the dialog for the RtO-DLC was recorded after the game was already released, or atleast sometime after the recording the voices for the main game.

Mark Meer gave an interview in January mentioning that he was just recently recording dialogue for DLCs. The voice-recording definitely doesn't all happen in one single burst that covers everything; in development periods, voice actors would get called back periodically over stretches of time, because the actual content of the game would change over time as well. This would apply even moreso for DLC.

Mindboggling that there are six, SIX romances in the game and none of them are same sex.

It's the only I example I can think of where adding more has resulted in less diversity.

Yeah, I support this, etc etc. What happened to the old thread? I don't have the attention span to read through it but last I checked it had mellowed out.
