She was, by far, the most developed and likeable character. It seems sort of retarded that Bioware would bring back a drunken dwarf that almost nobody likes over the best character they've created in some time (Lelianna).

Objectively speaking, there is little reason for Leliana to return. Leliana is not one of the essential characters to the main storyline. Furthermore, her personal story pretty much reaches its climax in DA:O. She also expresses no desire to become a Grey Warden. If she does make an appearance, I suspect it will be a brief cameo.

There's no point in bringing her back. Her story is over in DA, she leaves the country in every ending unless you romance her, she does not want to be a Warden. IIRC everyone leaves the country except Oghren and Alistair, which is why they are back in the expansion.

Sheryl has no heart and she only likes romances with tragic endings. I'd be wary of harassing her for more Leliana. She might decide that in Awakenings, Leliana loves you so much that she kills herself to save you. Or she might pull a Moulin Rouge, and give Leliana an incurable disease that wastes her away to nothing.

That said: Maria supports Leliana cameo in DA: Awakenings!

I don't remember seeing anything concerning safe sex in DAO, seems like she should be getting preggers here pretty soon. Unless your PC is a dud (or female)

Aren't you able to separate your "virtual" life from your "real" life? I have really no problems to do it...  and I have many friends who are married (both male and female) who are going crazy for their virtual companions..   it's a collateral damage of 20 and more years of  RPGaming and immedesimation...

Given the amount of sexual activity Leliana engaged in as a bard, I assume that either she has access to a form of contraception or that in Awakenings she appears with eight kids she sort of forgot the mention in the main game.

Ferelden probably as its own version of 'moon tea' or whatever.

My biggest question remians, what if you let Anora become the Queen & not Allistair. A lot of people are presuming things about Awakening becuase of what they saw in the trailer. But Allistair as king does not fit in with all the ending choices possible.

A favourite companion returning from DA:O could also mean that Bioware might give you the option of picking one favourite companion of your choice.

Leliana was specifically mentioned as a character making a cameo in the IGN Q&A so don't worry she has a cameo.

A cameo isn't good enough. -.-

To the topic starter:
There are tons of ways Bioware can break us up with Leliana. She could return to the chantry. She could rejoin the bards in Orlais (longshot since she made us all believe it was in her past). Ok that was two ways, but I am sure Bioware can, and have, come up with ways to separate us from our romances one way or another.

But it feels as if the poll of Leliana being the favourite has to speak for something. I mean "old favourite"... How can any other character be an old fave if Leliana rules the poll on this site. And if she's not chosen, what did Bioware base their "favourite" statement on.

I think a neat solution to having her in the game would be she turns up in your camp by your tent, ready to read the PC a story or sing a song. She's there but just not a active partcipant in battles. You could recycle her dialog from Origins and just leave out some lines.

Hi, I am Dark Lauron, and my favorite character is Oghren. And I am not saying just to say... I love dwarves in general.

Still, the least I can do for you fans, is hope she will be beside you in the keep, but not as a joinable party member. Is that good enough?

Proposition_Joe, I would rather have Zev watching camp than Oghrem.Zev is subtil I give him that but Oghrem is straight forward and hilarious with every party member you have on.....PS how hard is it to create a character vote to see which one will come back?
