I have yet played the game on Insanity in just N7 armor and the upgrades. I have the CE and am just using Collectors and going with that.

Has anyone played through on Insanity using just the N7 armor including Shepards lost helmet?

You can't play with the lost helmet (I assume you're talking about the one from the crash site); it just sits on your desk in your cabin.

Anyway, I've played halfway through Insanity with just N7 armor and it hasn't really made a big difference to me.

QFT - It doesn't make a lot of difference, especially later in the game.

So I am assumig that there are enough upgrades for the N7 armor that will make it as good or better then the exclusive armors?

Not unless you customise the armour to only boost one area.  I think the point is that near the end of the game the differences between the different armours don't really matter that much.

If you use your current ME2 save as the basis for your next play through you start with the stats you had at the end that saves game and in the locker you get the armour you had at the end of it(complete with upgrades and colour scheme).

I started my Insanity play through like this although its stupidly easy doing so. Went back to playing Insanity after importing another ME1 save, and starting with the basic n7 and level 1; much harder :D.

Where is the lost helmet? I played the quest and got all 20 tags but don't remember a helmet.

Yep, the other armors bonuses are actually balanced to be comparable to a fully upgraded set of N7, and of course you the bonus of using N7 is that you can choose what combination of bonuses you get.

i must agree with the main consensus. There *is* a slight difference, but if you have all the upgrades on your N7 armour, it's barely noticeable. Additionally, you get to hear your voice better in conversations :)

And the ability to turn off helmets. Its so much more enjoyable seeing Shepard's face during conversations.

I prefer the n7 for the visor that gives +10% headshot damage as well as it's appearance since it's more customizable and I see Shepard's face.

Amen brother, amen.

I seriously tried to wear Inferno Armour for the negotiation bonus, but that crap-ugly helmet hurt my eyes.

*nods* what the last 2 posters said. I made a big post in my gameplay impressions thread about the crapiness of the Preorder/DLC armors. I want versions without helmets, and I won't be happy until I get them.

Aye. I don't get why we can't turn off helmets honestly. It shouldn't be too hard (i hope).

Things that would be a little demanding to ask for would be able to change BD-armour's colour (dragon and lights) to others and stuff. But it sure would be welcome that too.

I've used N7 armor for all my playthroughs, even my Sentinel Insanity one. Holding conversations with a helmet just breaks everything for me. Granted on Insanity that shouldn't matter but it did for me. Did just fine, anyway.

N7 armor is really the best armor imo.

Honestly, Insanity isn't that hard. you don't have to max out every little thing like a *total* power gamer, just make sure that you remember to have some heavy weapon ammo in case of bad emergency and to use warp/throw from cover on anything that moves.
