Hello all,
My xbox died of [one of the many] natural causes that
xboxs months ago, and i just sent it in today for repairs. Weeks after
it i recovered my gamertag on a friends hardrive and it remains there
to this day. To cope with being xboxless i borrowed my friends which is
banned from online, so i cant re-recover my gt. However, the last 3
months or so I have completed a playthrough of Mass Effect 1 on my gt
offline, that i wish to carry over to ME2 on my new live enabled xbox.
It is on my hard drive and my question is if i recover will i lose  the
ME1 save data and any ME2 data i currently have on my gt that is not
recovered

Are you saying you recovered your gamertag on your friends hard drive.

And then when you borrowed a 360 you used your own hard drive to earn the acheivements.

Big mistake. When you recovered your gamertag on your friends hard drive it made the gamertag on your own hard drive invalid. You are only allowed to have one copy of a gamertag.

As soon as you connect your own hard drive xbox live will detect that it is no longer valid and automatically delete it. It means you will lose all the achievements and your saves may no longer be able to earn achievements for the game.

It's never a good idea to recover gamertags on friends consoles.
If you want to move gamertags between xboxes then keep it on a memory card card. that way you don't have to recover it.
