I've written a python module for reading and writing GFF files. It's definitely alpha, as the code has almost no documentation, and there is very little pre-condition error checking, though there shold not be any silent errors. The actual data structures created are clunky to use as well.
Also included are a basic savegame editor, and a gff viewer.
Obviously you'll need python to use the module, but to use the viewer or savegame editor you'll also need wxPython. py2exe has not been cooperating, and it'd produce a gigantic build besides.
Is there any interest in any further development? My own use for this module is limited, and the fact that no one has written a complete implementation of a reader, much less a writer in python indicates to me that any interest is limited.
