If you cannot romance Kelly until after you played through once...wouldn't you have a save game to import into ME3 before the Kelly romance and then one after the Kelly romance?

of course, my ME1 save games didn't work so well I don't think.

Btw... I was wondering, since this does raise the issue... when I choose to import an ME2 character into ME3, which save file does it take? The latest? Does it let you pick one from your post game saves?  Has it even been decided?

Much  appreciated, I always avoided the dinner option because I was afraid it would be considerd cheating on Tali, gladly it's not. Thank you.

Well, they left it kinda open ...

You can play flirty, have dinner and pretend nothing happened, then start with Tali.

But on the other hand, you still did something to get her to feed your fish ... tricky isn't it?

It's actually the main reason I want her, to feed my fish. Always collected dead fish after each small mission. Besides, good for the morale to invite her up.

Well, as soon as you can confirm Kelly will or will not get the full-LI treatment in ME3, please do. I'm interested in seeing a LI romance through to the end so I'll keep my current one if I must. However, if Kelly becomes an option, that's who I'm going with.

This just reminds me of someone's complaint about their male character being forced into sex with Zevran in Dragon Age... "I just wanted a massage!!!" ;)

Penny Arcade Cartoon about lusting for Kelly.

========

Sorry, younger forum members. Only players above a certain age will get this:

Kelly Chambers:  Mary Ann AND Ginger, the best of both.

Not much of Ginger, in my mind. Except, perhaps, the red hair.

Does doing this with Kelly count as cheating on your ME1 love interest?  Kelly’s a free spirit, and as such can be more of a bed buddy, hence why “romancing” her doesn’t turn down the picture frame on your desk, or get in the way of your romancing any of the main ME2 love interests.  Will this affect anything in ME3?  Well, we haven’t made the game yet, but the fact that you had Kelly up to your cabin is in your save game.

Heh I suspect this little tidbit will get people panicing. Posted Image

i'm a little confused, dusty,
first you wrote:
-"You need to do the following:....8.  Don’t have an active love interest.  You can never have one, have one but get them killed in the suicide mission, or dump your current love interest."
but then you wrote:
-"Kelly’s a free spirit, and as such can be more of a bed buddy, hence why “romancing” her doesn’t turn down the picture frame on your desk, or get in the way of your romancing any of the main ME2 love interests"

so, which is it, does flirty kelly do shep if you do have a LI or not?

-thanks

He means ME2 romance. The Picture represents the ME1 romance.

If you have a ME2 romance, no. Kelly doesn't care about Liara / Ash / Kaidan.

I was under the impression from the Mass Effect Wiki site that Kelly doesn’t really count for romancing if your romancing another.

“Kelly is a potential romance option for both a male and female Shepard. However, she is only a partial romance option as she does not grant the Paramour achievement, and does not affect any relationship Shepard might have, whether it be with their current squad member or love interest from the first Mass Effect. The six main romance options will not begin a romance with you if you are in a romance with another character.”

I'd trust the Developers over a Wiki. The Wiki makes assumptions.

yeah, that little tidbit does have me a little worried. but I took it as vague... is Dusty Everman referring to having Kelly up for dinner as well or is it just inviting her up to dance?

I didn't romance anyone in my game and went the friend route with Kelly. I interpreted the option of her coming up for dinner to be just that, dinner and talking with the Ship's counselor. IF the game had allowed me do something similar with other people on my squad, I would have. If my Shep could have sat down for a meal with the people in the mess hall area, that would have been great, too.

If somehow Ashley gets ticked off at my Shep because he had a friendly dinner with someone, I'll be rather annoyed. If that happens, I'll definitely do a run through where I romanced Tali or Miranda.

By his description it sounds to me like he's referring to using the intercom to call her up to your room. Not the Dinner thing, which isn't actually shown.

Yeah.  That is how I interpreted it.  I didn't want to assume though.

See that would have been an interesting Paragon / Renegade Choice in the game if they had added the Dinner Date, and if you kept it as Friendly or did the dirty deed.

I will agree that inviting her up to your room is pretty questionable, but everything up that is nothing more than some, perhaps, inappropriate flirting.

I agree.  In YOUR game more could have happened during that fade-to-black,  but we wouldn't assume that to be the case with respect to how it may or may not affect anything in ME3.  What happened during dinner is between you and Kelly.

And NO, I am not implying anything about what might happen in ME3.  We haven't even started working on smaller details.  Will Kelly even be in ME3 or not?  I don't know.  A big part of what guides us is the feedback and telemetry of what players find popular.

This user demands that we can get Kelly to join the Alliance and be our Yeoman once again.

Kelly was a great character. Please don't brush her aside in ME3!

Perfect.  For the friend route, that is exactly what it was.

Yes, thanks for further explanation on that. :)

For my two cents, I liked Kelly's char and I would enjoy it if she was back in ME3. The idea of a ship's counselor is a very smart one given all the trials and tribulations Shepard and his crew would face in their mission(s). Kudos for including her in ME2!

Well, I for one greatly enjoyed Kelly. It was nice having a relatively "normal" potential love interest for once. Not every LI has to be a genetically engineered seductress, career soldier with grand-daddy issues, or a Jack. I'd like for Kelly's romance to carry over into ME3 and become a fully-fledged path in its own right, much as the Miri/Ash/Jack romance is.
