Another day, another weapon DLC. This got me thinking about what type of DLC I would really like to see from the Cerberus network.
I and several others have mentioned that we would like to see more squad banter for ME3. But then I was wondering - is it possible to have squad banter as a DLC? We do not need animations; just have the audio files kick in like they do in Dragon Age.
Indeed, if the system supported it, this would be the ideal way to support squad banter. Audio files are huge, and not everyone values squad banter enough to spend the DVD real estate on it. But for those of us interested, we just download the new audio files onto our hard drive. And you can keep the conversations fresh by periodically sending out new squad banter patches.
Hell, I would willing to pay a (nominal) fee for this type of DLC. 15 minutes of solid squad banter would be worth a buck to me. Others mileage may vary.
Of course, this only works if the system has been architected to support this type of DLC. Can I get a yes, no, or we will not comment on future DLC?
Is Squad Banter DLC Possible?

I liked that stuff in Dragon Age Origins. Like, Leliana talking to Dog, calling him gluttonous, etc.
Though, if they haven't already recorded all those little side conversations, BioWare's gonna have to round up all the voice actors again to make this DLC. I don't really see that happening.
In the ME1 DLCs, they were able to get Hale and Vanderwhatsit to do Shepard in Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station, but no one else said anything. Probably cuz they couldn't get everyone back for such a small project?
Mmm.

Doubt it, they would have to bring in the VA's again. Given that at least one of them are fairly big actors, that means fairly big money's to get them in to do even 15 minutes worth of banter.
We can but dream, though...

Put Tali and Garrus in your squad and walk around the citadel (if you haven't already) you're in for some funny banter

I'd love for them to add squad banter, even if it's just one squad member ragging on another.
Squad banter is one of the main things that Dragon Age did amazingly that Mass Effect 2 failed at badly.

Fair enough. I understand that.
But for ME3 I would be willing to put up with them doling out pre-recorded squad banter over time as DLC.

I for one am thankful there isn't. Other than the 2 squadmates chatting every once in a while please keep it that way. Nothing is more frustrating than getting trapped in a conversation when you really wanted to hack something or pick up something or do something productive.

I think this perfectly demonstrates how we all love (or in some cases love to hate) this game for different reasons. personally I enjoy the story and characters more than the combat, but BioWare are experts at delivering both. but that's also the beauty of DLC, those who don't want it don't have to install it
sadly though, it is unlikely. but we can hope

This is needed, but won't happen.
