Wouldn't that mean I would need to actually own a copy of the Collectors/DD to get the codes transferred to my Live account? I have neither...

Neither do I, you can find the codes separate from their packaging. You can also spend money on those games, or you can get lucky.

Because EA likes taking stuff out of games, then put them back in again and give them in ther overpowered glory straight to the player for no in-game reason at all.

Exactly, or they like to give those out for free for some weird reason.
Don't ask, we had a problem about it on the Gamefaqs board and I'm sure some EA employees are having a crappy night.

I asked politely to some people, I got free codes. This is the game I have the most DLC for besides when I had Oblivion and Dead Space.

Recon Helm is boss until you try and drink some green **** through it, or try to kiss Liara with it on.

Oh yeah, and Morrowind > all. 'Nuff said.

Never bothered me, I found trying to kiss Liara to not look to well done to begin with, so the helmet doesn't bother me.

I get these promotions from a marketing perspective, but I still don't think they should be exclusive forever. Be nice to be able to get all of the stuff somehow - the game has few enough options as far as gear goes as it is.
Even though I probably won't ever use it, I still want the Terminus armor ;(

I work at Gamestop currently and worked at Gamecrazy in the past. I know we try to be nice sometimes and give out spare codes if we have extras after the initial release craziness. What are we going to do with them anyway? Throw away perfectly good codes? Nah...

Pretty much, half the people fall late on their preorders, and then you'll end up having a surplus in stock, or atleast a surplus of codes.

That and sometimes we just get sent extra. For Halo ODST, we had a billion of the Sgt. Johnson codes leftover. We just handed out stacks to people to give to their own friends...
Anyway, it would be really great if they released more types of armor - individual pieces with their own stats. Personally I'd love more torso armor and shoulder guards. I love the look of the asymmetric shoulder guard. It'd be awesome to get some variation on it. And we need more patterns. Two just doesn't cut it (tiger stripes, or maybe a cool pattern that is only on Shepard's back since that's the only thing we're looking at for 80% of the game.) While I enjoy the downloadable full armor sets, nothing says personalization better than creating your own unique set.

My only character is fine with the Blood Dragon Armor.
I don't want to start randomly shoving more crap in the system to make both N7 and the DLC Armors redudant.
However, we could use new N7 pieces, and we have enough defense DLC Armors, where's the actual weapons damage offense Armor we could use? We already have an Adept/Tech super booster Armor set.

They should come out with a DLC armor pack for maybe 400 Microsoft Points(5 Dollars). I'd buy it, ya know have it consist of some N7 pieces and one full armor suit like the Inferno or Terminus.
