You could write them an e-mail, start a petition, not purchase BioWare products, and/or call BioWare, Sony, and its subsidiaries. You could do many things. Perhaps you have a better idea than any I have mentioned (I think someone here should) in which case you could share it here or in my group. But THIS, posting here with questions, rants, witty remarks, incendiary comments, THIS serves little purpose beyond what self-gratification you take from it.

Hmm Ok there are some good ideas here but I would like to throw some out.

Calling them: Lots of examples of this, People calling Sony, EA, Bioware, all seem to tell you to call the other, or give out the wrong info.

E-mails: Same as the above TBH

Boycotting Bioware: Really is this effective? All they would do is stop making PS3 Products that would annoy people who don't really care about RTO, or use the forums. That they are suffering for others decisisons.

Petition: Really there is already a PS3 Group for this, infact it's in your sig bar. SO that I guess is your petition.

So whats left other than to post and attack threads?

Thats not what I'm saying you should or shouldn't do, I'm just pointing out some logics into why some of the ideas have been tested but failed. Oh well bring on Awakening for me.

I did so at first for the sake of being proven otherwise.

Doubt obviously exists in the community currently about Bioware's standing, and a small offical update saying we have no news would be good to te PS3 community. They did say they were losing money, and didn't like this either, but that still provides no new information on the situation, that couldn't have been inferred previously.

And there is no need to apolgize. It's just a reminder.

Bioware is losing money on the PS3 version of "Dragon Age: Origins"? Source, no, sources, please, because this is the first I've heard of this.

Quill perhaps this is to do with all the people who wanted there money back for RTO, and Awakening that they Pre-Ordered? But as you said no source, so may just be people spinning webs.

They're losing money, because they spent the time to make RTO on the PS3, and it seems it may not be released, others are canceling their orders on Awakening as well, and even if RTO comes out PS3-wise, a few will not buy it regardless for the delay and lack of communication.

I don't see anyway for them to be gaining money with this delay, do you? So why do you doubt that?

I can not speak for the rest of you, but I, as well as my small group of friends have already agreed that we will NOT spend our hard earned money on the expansion. Why? Beacuse we are PS3 owners and we do not want to risk our money on promises and maybe's. I'm sure Bio will ensure the expanions quility and timely release date, but we are not willing to find out!

Myusha:

You've posted your thoughts on the matter, and that's fine. But, unless I see official numbers and/or quotes from employees in Bioware's finance division, that's all it is: your thoughts.

That said, it's highly unlikely that Bioware will lose money on RtO, let alone the full DAO game, for the PS3. Profit is always among the top priorities of a company, and rightly so; if EA/Bioware thought for an instant they would lose money on the PS3 platform with DAO and its downloadables and expansions, they would never have even brought the game over in the first place.

Sure, it seems EA/Bioware has had a few unforeseen issues with the RtO downloadable content, but not enough so to make the entire PS3 portion of the franchise unprofitable.

Edit: Added salutations.

Ultimately, it's your money, so spend it (or not) as you see fit. However, you do not represent all PS3 owners; I fully intend to purchase RtO *and* Awakenings. Period. No ifs, ands or buts. (Although I might wait a week after RtO comes out just to see if there are any game-breaking issues, since, in all fairness, Bioware did have issues with the XBox version of RtO.)

In the meantime, wanna play some MAG with me? **LOL**

Lol don't own MAG I bought U2, MW2, AC2, and WWE but no MAG unfourtantly. But i'm the same as you, I'm u happy and I will voice my oppinions, but will buy the products as you said depending on how "Game Breaking" They are. Last thing I want is my Kings armour being A chicken suit. Which could be quiet intresting TBH.

On the note of awekning read my topic there, compare your trophies to an online mates, and check out DAO, my own platnum is now at 84%, due to DA: A trophies being realised already. So for anyone who doubts Awakening it should hopfully be on time (A week after due to the usual Certificates, or Miscrosoft Premiums)

I agree the wait is a tad ridiculous and the silence is frustrating. However, I must urge some of you to find something better to do. If you think you're disappointed now, wait until you play it LOL. It's not terrible but even if it were 10x as good as it is, it wouldn't be worth this much waiting or angst-ing.

I agree PS3 users got the shaft here and you have my sympathies, and I'm not trying to gloat about having played it already, but you guys are setting yourselves up for a real big letdown.

So threads asking for PS3 support keep getting locked... If you have many threads popping out on the same subject, it is because there is unrest amongst your fanbase regarding that subject. Closing down threads resolves nothing: how about you communicate instead! Make an official post where everyone can find it: not a thread started by some user that is full of fluff. Not a thread abotu the PC or Xbox 360 that gets one post about the ps3 on page 18.

I can appreciate how frustraiting this can be. I really wanted Assassins Creed II - but I have a PC and thus have had to wait months for its release after the consoles got it. More than a little irksome. At least I know why, release to the PC is a more complicated process.

Yet I've got to wonder why anyone thinks this is somehow BioWares fault. Admittedly I'm not an ordinary consumer but at least I try to understand the reasoning behind something before I go flying off the handle. As to why the PS3 version is delayed, there are quotes from BioWare already on the boards explaining that the delay is up to Sony at the moment. They'd really rather be getting your money. This problem however is far from unique to BioWare but the nature of the game industry. In truth the source of the issue is consoles themselves. They are produced by businesses that then produce their own games - they are the opposite of motivated when it comes to approving content from competition. To clarify that, here's some quotes from EAs 10-Q:

The video game hardware manufacturers are among our chief
competitors and frequently control the manufacturing of and/or access
to our video game products. If they do not approve our products, we
will be unable to ship to our customers.

Our agreements
with hardware licensors (such as Sony for the PLAYSTATION 3, Microsoft
for the Xbox 360, and Nintendo for the Wii) typically give significant
control to the licensor over the approval and manufacturing of our
products, which could, in certain circumstances, leave us unable to get
our products approved, manufactured and shipped to customers. These
hardware licensors are also among our chief competitors. Generally,
control of the approval and manufacturing process by the hardware
licensors increases both our manufacturing lead times and costs as
compared to those we can achieve independently. While we believe that
our relationships with our hardware licensors are currently good, the
potential for these licensors to delay or refuse to approve or
manufacture our products exists. Such occurrences would harm our
business and our financial performance.

We also require
compatibility code and the consent of Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo in
order to include online capabilities in our products for their
respective platforms. As online capabilities for video game systems
become more significant, Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo could restrict
the manner in which we provide online capabilities for our products. If
Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo refused to approve our products with online
capabilities or significantly impacted the financial terms on which
these services are offered to our customers, our business could be
harmed.

The video game hardware manufacturers set the royalty rates and
other fees that we must pay to publish games for their platforms, and
therefore have significant influence on our costs. If one or more of
these manufacturers change their fee structure, our profitability will
be materially impacted.

In order to
publish products for a video game system such as the Xbox 360,
PLAYSTATION 3 or Wii, we must take a license from Microsoft, Sony and
Nintendo, respectively, which gives these companies the opportunity to
set the fee structure that we must pay in order to publish games for
that platform. Similarly, these companies have retained the flexibility
to change their fee structures, or adopt different fee structures for
online gameplay and other new features for their consoles. The control
that hardware manufacturers have over the fee structures for their
platforms and online access could adversely impact our costs,
profitability and margins. Because publishing products for video game
systems is the largest portion of our business, any increase in fee
structures would significantly harm our ability to generate profits."

What you are posting is not relevant to the lack of communication for PS3 users, an issue that is completely withing Bioware's control

We caught Victor in a contradiction. We asked about it, politely, and asked for a clarification. We got silence.

We asked for an update, we got silence.

We asked for a PS3 sticky thread, like 360 and PC have, we got silence.

We made threads asking the same questions, we got locked.

Sony's certification might take longer, however choosing to develop and deliver the ps3 version last was a Bio decision. Why not come out and say it, and make us all feel a bit more cared for? And anyone knows that Sony's cert is by no means a closed process. You can ask for status updates regarding your title at anytime. It is not hard but impossible to believe that EA does not have the means to ask Sony "when will you be done with this".

SINCE MY THREAD WAS LOCKED BECAUSE THEY WANT ALL PS3 RTO COMMENTS HERE I GUESS I HAVE TO POST HERE.

BIOWARE IS VERY CLOSE TO LOSING ANY FUTURE MONEY FROM ME! THIS LACK OF SUPPORT FOR PS3 IS GROWING VERY THIN WITH ME AND IM TEMPTED TO UNPRE-ORDER AWAKENINGS AND SELL MY COLLECTORS EDITION (YOU KNOW THE ONE WITH THE SOUNDTRACK THAT DOESN'T EVEN PLAY IN THE PS3) AND PROBABLY NEVER SUPPORT ANOTHER BIOWARE PRODUCT AGAIN!

IF YOU DEVS THINK GIVING US CONSUMERS REGULAR UPDATES IS SUCH A PAIN THEN SOMETHING IS WRONG.  WE ARE CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE PAID FOR YOUR GAME, SUPPORTED YOUR OVERPRICED DLC AND NOW YOU SHOW PS3 NO REPSECT BY NOT RELEASING CONTENT FOR OUR SYSTEM.

I CANT UNDERSTAND HOW THERE ARE SO MANY CONSUMERS STICKING UP FOR BIOWARE RIGHT NOW! THEY HAVE TOTALLY SCREWED PS3 AT THIS POINT IN TIME.  I WOULDNT EVEN BE SURPRISED IF WE PS3 PLAYERS NEVER SEE RTO AT ALL!

TO THE PERSON THAT LOCKED MY TOPIC I HOPE THIS POST IS MORE ORGANIZED FOR YOU

I think there won't be a Dragon Age 2 on PS3. The writing's on the wall. This is MS's plan to lure more buyers of the 360. Dragon Age has a huge following. They will bribe Bioware the same way they did RockStar and PS3 players of Dragon Age will be forced with the decision of buying an XBox or forgeting about the sequel. I hope this is just conspiricy, but we'll see....

That's quite unlikely. Profitable business models go towards multiplatform. And EA desperately needs profits

The annoying part of all this aside from the PS3 folk STILL WAITING (which is utter rediculousness at this point) is I was under the impression steps would be taken on the communication side of things between community reps and the proper dev channels so that this kind of lack of information would'nt  happen going forward.

Its pretty aparent at this point that those steps still haven't been taken. Starting to wonder what the chain of command over there at Bioware is doing at this point, there's really only so many dropped balls one can be expected to forgive.

Communication has certainly not improved.

Ignoring or hushing issues does not make them go away. Hoping your audience has a short memory and will soon forget about the lack of support once the content is released is foolish. Bioware's audience are what "hardcore" gamers. We don't forget. And if you have your stats on Loghain's survival rate you also know: we don't forgive.

It is sad that it is almost been a month since the DLC for Return to Ostagar has come out for the Xbox 360 and the PC and yet there is still no info on whats going on. I love this game but I am done with Bioware and Sony on its lack of communication. The Dev team that is making Dead Space are soo much better developers than Bioware. They at least update us every week on Facebook and on their site letting its fans know what they are doing with the game. Bioware has not done that at all with this DLC. Im done with Bioware and Sony.
