Remember, they're at the mercy of Sony in a lot of ways. In every single way it's in BioWares best interests to sell you their product. The longer it takes to get released the lower its sales will be. That's no mystery in fact it's in their quarterly release. As to why the delay and lack of response? As BioWare has a guy whos whole job is talking to the community it seems remarkable that PS3 folks don't get the same support?
From a business perspective my inclination would be to say it's a request from Sony far more likely than some incomprehensible desire of BioWares to differentiate their levels of support. In fact earlier posts from BioWare indicated that a major goal was to try and provide equal support to all platforms - console and PC. That suddenly went away with the DLC releases. The same point at which conversations with Sony/Microsoft over licensing and product support would come up.
Pure speculation but then again so is everything else on the subject.

Now as you highlight, given that there is a person whose job seems to focus on community development and social features, the lack of information and support for ps3 is surprising. There are many "damage control" measures that could have been taken to avoid ps3 users feeling neglected. Instead they chose a defensive stance instead of clarifying contradictory statements, followed by utter silence and locking of threads. You can have 4 threads talking about Oghren at any one time, but you cannot have two threads about ps3 because that's "spam". Seriously.

Consider this: The development company Edge of Reality was responsible for the PS3 port of DAO. If they're involved with RtO as well, maybe it's something to do with them. They might be the proverbial middle man causing all the trouble!
Defend yourself, Edge of Reality! (Well, only if you're involved with RtO.)

Some people just don't understand "they'll tell you when it's ready". It's not a giant freaking conspiracy. No matter how much you b*tch, it'll be out when it's out. And that is when you will hear about it. Just face down that cold reality and allow yourself to enjoy life again. Seriously.
If people acted as you propose whenever they encounter something that they consider negative, humanity would still be in the dark ages.
We want information and the same level of support that other platforms have. This is not an outrageous demand, it is simple consumer support and community management, and it really should not be this difficult.

Fexelea, you have got to be kidding. You are not fighting a great battle for consumer's rights here. You are ignoring the information in front of you because you don't like it and carrying on as if what you are doing is some kind of noble sacrifice.

I could rant all day about how much I hate the console market and what it's done to the game industry. For all the benefit that inexpensive gaming systems released to the public have been they are effectively platforms released by businesses that also release their own content. Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo bleed revenue out, extend development and release timeframes, complicate intellectual property rights and in general make everything about producing and selling games more complicated and less cost-effective.
Anyway. Tons of empathy. Reminds me of why I like my PC so much. While I wouldn't say it's a conspiracy I would say it doesn't take James Bond to figure out that Sony does the same thing with gaming media that they do with their other media holdings - 'request' limitations or controls over what's released publically to consumers of their products.

it's almost a month late and we can't even get a tentative release date. we have a right to be annoyed, and bioware doesn't need you to play white knight. now how about you move on with your life?
I'm trying to help you guys, not Bioware. It pains me to see people upset and angry about something so completely unimportant. Especially when the answer is an obvious fact and they all just refuse to see it, or worse substitute some paranoid conspiracy about Bioware and Sony colluding to rob them of 45 minutes of looting.
If you had read my post, I agree that you have a right to be annoyed. But surely the length of the silence has demonstrated to you, if nothing else, that they aren't going to say until they know and pestering them isn't going to make them know any faster.

Although.... i know this is just wishful thinking because most Americans even tho they dislike companies and how they treat their customers, in the end they still end up buying things from this company. Thats why most companies never really worry about pissing off their customers cuz in the end they know most people will still buy their product.

I truly think that us PS3 owners need to send Bioware a very loud statement by not buying Awakenings. Maybe once they see how upset they have made their customers on PS3 maybe they would work harder in the future to show PS3 players more respect.

While I'm frustrated about RTO not being out and the lack of communication, I certainly don't think it is malicious enough to boycott Bioware. Especially when in the end, I WANT to play Awakening. Enough so that I would trade never getting RTO for it.

As
you outlined, your job is to help improve communication with the
community. What I am telling you now will help. The PS3 users do not
have an official news and announcements thread, we are left to stumble
around in the dark. Searching for any tidbit about us in the PC and
XBOX threads. Frankly Victor the PS3 users are feeling like second
class citizens. This is not about RtO (not for me or many of us) this
is about the lack of communication we receive. We feel as though
Bioware just doesn't care. I don't think that's right we as a community
support them (defend them at times) yet here we stand cast aside.
Victor if you truly want to do your job please get PS3 users an
update thread. Help us feel valued. We want to support Bioware but how
can we when we feel like then don't care about us?
Thanks for all your time. I look forward to your response and will be posting this in the forums.
P.S I own a copy of Dragon Age for Both PS3 and PC. Yet being a PS3 owner I still feel the neglect.
All we can do is wait not my friends. I stand by Bioware as a creator of quality product. Lets hope that soon we won't have to feel neglected.

people arent understanding , sure its 30 mins of looting or whatever so stop being upset you arent missing anything chill out! ... i has NOTHING to do with the game or the DLC or loot it has to do with being treated like we dont matter. its the feeling of neglect that we arent getting any thing not even a hey hows your mother. all we are getting is silence.
its just sickening to the point where i will not support this company anymore. what pisses me off even more is that when it is (if ever) released it will be released with no comment or appology issued. Its not a matter of the DLC i could give a care less if it does come out now , its about the way the PS3 owners are being treated.

I am not kidding. Regardless of the relevancy that you might attribute to a cause that is valid to someone else, it remains as valid to the other person. If people always stopped what they care about because someone else told them it's not importatnt, we would live in a very different world.
You can interpret what we are doing as "b*tching", you can think it is a waste of our time, however you have no place to tell me what I should and should not care about. I happen to like Bioware's games a great deal, and I find the lack of communication frustrating. For whatever we interpret, it would be just as easy for the community facilitator here to answer the questions I made more than a month ago and more than 6 times. Instead we are ignored and any related threads are locked as "spam". This is not good for Bioware as a business, as you will notice the number of people who are losing patience is increasing.
Your attempts to condescend do your argument no good.

Sony can't forbid anything - however, they have complete control over licensing fees, permissions, testing and release timeframes. They also compete with EA in producing games for the PS3. EA isn't obligated to do what Sony tells them but they are certainly motivated to ensure their relationship with Sony is a friendly one. If Sony doesn't want fingers pointed at them or promises made regarding release times EA is most likely going to comply. Keep in mind that due to the hardware design of the PS3 it's inherently a bigger pain to develop for and even more of a pain to get a cross-platform system to take advantage of its graphics potential. If Sony says that they won't let it be released until it's been developed (above and beyond what was done to release it on PC and XBOX360) specifically for the graphics requirements of the PS3 and that's suddenly turned into a hassle, where does that leave BioWare/EA and the poor bastards they've subcontracted to handle the PS3 port? Suppose Sony doesn't want the fact that they are 100% what's holding it up communicated? Could EA/BioWare do it anyway? Sure, but they're completely reliant on Sonys good will for licensing costs and release to the PS3 market.
I could rant all day about how much I hate the console market and what it's done to the game industry. You can rant on about consoles all you like. It is not relevant to the fact that has most people annoyed: silence, ignoring information requests, and thread locking. It does not take insider knowledge to know that the things you claim Sony can do are not so.
Bioware can give us an update in many ways and forms, and feel the PS3 users feel more cared for without having to break any NDAs or good faith agreements. They aren't even trying.
Poor little Bio being bullied by evil Sony would only work if they were not part of EA. Anyone that has done business with them knows how incredibly ruthless they are.

Do you really want them to come here and post once a day "We still don't know" ? Is your real problem that Bioware hasn't hired anybody to hold your hand throughout the entire delay?

Your assumptions regarding the time it takes me to write a post are innacurate.
Your attempts to condescend do nothing to further your argument.
If you have read the thread, you have read what I have asked, to whom, and why. Those questions remain unanswered. Stating that they have been adressed does not make it so, nor does attributting intentions to my postings make them real.
If you have nothing to contribute to the argument beyond questioning my intentions and ignoring what I have posted on the matter, I believe this to be a waste of your time. Continue if you wish, but I am no longer bothering with answering to the same fallacies over and over.
