Offical PS3 RTO Debate

Your attempts to take a higher ground by means of condescending assumptions regarding the business experience and knowledge of those who are complaining do nothing to support your further assumptions regarding the contents of any NDAs that could have been or not signed between Sony and Bioware/EA.
People on this thread are not vilifying Bioware. They are complaining about an utter an absolute lack of transparency, clarity and communication. You should read the whole thread to see what has been said and what is being asked. Victor was here to declare that there were no evil intentions, yet he did not answer even one of our questions, which were ALL within his power to answer, as they referred directly to (contradictory) comments he himself has made.

In the meantime, I'll keep playing MAG and perhaps give Bioshock 2's online component a shot or two.

It's called business. BioWare have passed it onto Sony for certification. Sony are unlikely to provide BioWare with much feedback about the certification process, and even then BioWare employees are probably not allowed to say much (if anything) about the process. It's called a Non-Disclosure Agreement. Business is full of them.
Would I like PS3 gamers to have a copy of RTO? For sure. But complaining about "BioWare's lack of support" and "OMG BIOWARE SUCK" and the comments of that ilk don't do anything. Just as a newsflash to everyone out there, BioWare WANTS their customers to be happy. I doubt anywhere at BioWare is happy that PS3 gamers can't get DA:O, but that doesn't mean they can comment about it. If you're not happy with BioWare, you might not buy their next game, and BioWare DOESN'T want that. Vilifying the company as a whole might be "fun" because you're frustrated, but I can assure you that the developers want you to have RtO just as much (if not more) than you want to have it.
I hadn't thought of this, but it is a feasible explanation why we haven't heard anything. As you say, NDA's are very common in business dealings these days, and I wouldn't be surprised if a major business entity like Sony would require it in any contracts they draw up. The thing is, too, sometimes it's included in a contract that you cannot even make public that there is in fact a NDA in place. This is speculation on my part , of course, but the possibilty does exist and makes me think to blame Bioware for being closed mouth about this situation might be patently unfair. They may have no choice in the matter.

We can talk about possible obscure agreements that prevent anyone from saying anything, however the undeniable is that Victor didn't even bother to clarify the contradictory statements he made. They gave one line and then gave another, then went silent.
BTW, no Sony NDA will forbid the publisher (EA) from announcing release dates or progress updates. That is not how they work. Bioware might be unfamiliar with the processes of SCEA, however they cannot be held to silence regarding their own product: If they don't know that's fair, but they should take the bull by the horns and admit that they made an active decision to leave the PS3 version for last and that furthered the delay.

Suggesting I haven't read the whole thread - that's condescending. Yes, there's been some reasonable questions asked. But...Fexelea wrote...

what cowards. they don't have the courtesy to talk about RtO for the ps3 ANYWHERE on this whole web site.
this is unprofessional. defend the "bioware isn't biased", your actions (lack there of) say otherwise.
BioWait would never do such a thing as long as they can eventually milk 5 bucks out of you red headed stepchilds ... At this point the interns and janitors are probly working on getting it out now. That's IF it's even comming out at all.
me too come bioware answer the question if you dare?
No way would BioWait admit fault. It's easier to blame Sonys voodoo certification process
What a joke, another PSN update passes without a patch or RTO dlc anywhere in sight. I don't mind too much, but I think it's rubbish that Bioware can't give us proper updates...Oh and where's the PS3 forum? Why does pc and xbox have one and PS3 doesn't? red headed stepchildren aren't we?
Oh nice, BioWare Rep can come out and Close threads but can't give us **** on why We still don't have it yet... Good show BioWare...

Saying things like "It's called business" is condescending.

I did not suggest that you have not read the whole thread, and even if I did that would not be condescending, it would be an assumption.

No i saw that. It is one post amongst many posts that have asked clearly, politely and repeatedly to get certain answers. The original post that blamed Sony was deconstructed, and eventually Victor's contradiction was questioned, and his lack of a response to the further questioning, along with the overall lack of communication towards PS3, are what the main and more recurrent complains in the thread are.

Opinions are subjective by default. You can reach an objective conclusion following a logical argument. Starting your post with condescending language and expressing your opinion as fact based on assumptions is fallacious reasoning and diminishes the credibility of anything you write.
I have absolutely no objections with anyone stating their views, so please continue to do so, however I do hope that you can chose your words better in order to avoid misunderstandings, if your intention is not to be on the attack bur rather reach an objective agreement.
