The title pretty much says it all. I waited since this morning for the new DLC and play ME2 again since I haven't had a whole lot of time since I bought it to play last week. Well the darndist thing happened I got the DLC that was released today and now my chars are no longer gaining Experience from kills or missions; it always says I have 800 XP to go. I was in the area where you start looking for the Doctor (just past the elevator with human arguing) and that is where I loaded my save well I was thinking maybe it was just the area and I would get the XP for completing the miss and recruting the Doc; I just finished it and on the ship it says I still need 800 XP to next level and I have no new ability points to spend.

Just let me know what you want me to send and I will. I will check back in a few hours.

You never get experience from kills; only for completing missions. And completing a recruitment mission nets you 1,000 experience, so if you had 800 to go before completing it you'll have 800 to go after completing it as well (you level up at every 1,000 XP). Are you sure you don't have 2 new squad points to distribute?

Yeap your right, that is something I had not noticed before. I do have 2 more points to spend on the ship, seems a little odd no XP for kills though oh well disregaurd.

it's not "a little odd" it means you can't for example farm a couple of the missions that have infinate spawns of foes (and means that Bioware can make those missions safely). It also means you're not compelled to make choices for higher XP gain (as you could in ME1, just in order to get more kill XP). This way everything is equal, and level pacing and power is more controlled.
