Casey Hudson was talking about "The Suicide Mission Concept" for ME2 when he returned from E3 last year, and he made a statement which I'm not sure I understood clearly:
If you die in the end but in retrospect you really wish you had lived, you can of course go back to a savegame from before you attempted the final mission. From there you can make the improvements required to survive and continue your character into the next game.
Is he saying that if your Shepard character dies a permanent death in ME2, you can reload a saved game and attempt the suicide mission again? And if this is the case, can you now carry over your Shepard character into ME3 or is he forever stuck in the ME2 world?
Any assistance with this question is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
If someone could answer this I would be grateful

If you have a save from before the point of no return, you can reload it and do what you need to do to survive. When you beat the game, that save can then be used to import into ME3.

Pretty much if your Shepard dies at the end of me2 you will not be able to carry over that end game save into mass effect 3. If you then, reload a save before the suicide mission and survive you can import that end game save into mass effect 3

Thanks CatatonicMan. I feel a little ashamed asking the question, but I just wanted to make sure I got the right clarification. :-)
