Even after all the complaints Ive seen from people with the "one set" unique armors and their inremovable helmets, I expected BIOWARE to wise up about the CERBERUS ARMOR released today.
BUT NOOOOO!!!!!!!!
They release the coolest armor so far, and.... AGAIN WITH THE FREAKING HELMETS.
Why did the put so much time in making life-like facial motions jutst to release DLC that hides them.
I know the game cant be perfect, but come on, this is so FREAKING OBVIOUS.
I didnt make the greatest SHEPARD ever just to see light reflection when I look at where his face should be.
In short, this is a big concern for me and BIOWARE (if they value their consumers) should fix it. I know im not the only one pissed off at this, yes Im talking about you.

Seems like something they could patch in. Have faith!

It's been mentioned before, but it seems to be a design decision to have the armors like that.
One can only hope they'll change it in the future, but from the looks of it, I doubt it.

I'm not pissed about it, so you can't be talking about me.

It really isn't that big of a deal. Surely a simple patch will fix this at a later date.

I too would like removable helmets.

the armor is cool if you have a Renegade character. then you only see his evil red eyes. It was a good friend to me during the final mission

Really not a big deal to me. The only time I'll bother having a drink in ME2 is to activate an assignment, if it bothered me that much I'd just change my armour for the (combatless) mission.

removable helmets FTW, i was so pissed off that my collectors and inferno armor helmets cant come off.

For some people it IS a big deal. What is the point in telling them that it isn't a big deal then?

New armour? Released today? Is it free? I didn't know about it.

Same I to take the helmet off it looks like Commander Shepard took one of the heads from the Mechs, slapped some paint on it and wore it as a battle trophy.

calm down..
i agree, that is pretty much the ONLY reason why i don't use the new armors at all. having the helmets on in those enivornments where you need it fine, but over all it shouldn't always obscure your characters face.

It really is annoying. I mean, in DA:O they removed the helmets during conversations just fine. Why is that so hard to do with ME:2?

Yes, yes, and yes. It's a new suit of armor (+10% shields, +10% health, +10% heavy weapon ammo) that looks fairly nice, though it has the whole nonremovable helmet issue.
The DLC also comes with a shotgun, which is actually quite nice, and is worth downloading the DLC for alone.
Of course, it's not free unless you've registered with the Cerberus network, but just about everyone with a legit copy of the game should have done so by now.

Another alternative, although I'm sure not as easy to implement, would be to have it so the visor part of the helmet you're wearing to go up, down, to the sides or fade to clear when you're not in a battle situation.

Personally feel that the armor is pretty cool. I really had no reason to hate on the Cereberus armor. If you feel like it's not worth your time than just stick with the N7 armor. Thats what I do.
The Shotgun is definitely an awesome Downloadable. Not very strong but ranged fire is definitely easier.

Considering Bioware could just flip us all the bird when it comes to DLC (especially free DLC), I'm thankful that they are keeping it flowing.
Armor customization (helmets on or off for instance) is one of the many RPG elements many people wish were in ME2. So maybe Bioware will change it around for ME3 or with a patch, but if not, I'm not going to look a gift horse in the moutt

Do you have to start a new game to use them?

No, as with any DLC, you can DL it while actually playing the game. Once it is DL'd you can just go back to the main menu and reboot the game. Least, that's how it is with my 360 version.

I agree the helmets on new armor and inferno armor look more on the goofy end than cool/scary side.

I think they should have designed the DLC armors WITH removable helmet (N7 armor as well) and also let us color them as we see fit. Armor statistics should be controlled by different armor mods instead of per armor variant. That way everyone could wear the armor design they fancy while using mods to add bonuses to suit their class and playstyle.

Since there was an option to toggle helmets on/off in ME1, it seems kind of strange that ME2 lacked the same option. Hopefully they fix it in a future patch; I'd love to use some of those awesome armors, but seeing Shepard's face means more to me than some stat bonuses.
